Can I build the bridge by waterfall?

How many spaces away from the waterfall can I build my bridge. The waterfall faces south and leads to ocean and I want a bridge right above it as close as possible. I'm thinking two spaces? If you've done this and have a picture please post it!

I tried placing a bridge near it, and the closest Isabelle would let me get was six spaces.

However, your mileage may vary, and I'm not totally sure that the problem was just proximity to the waterfall - it was a cluttered area.

Depends on how your river is shaped there I would think.

It's perfectly vertical above the waterfall. Runs North South and I want my bridge horizontal.
