Question is in title. I like the rpg aspect of animal crossing but maybe something a little different or with a little more. Anything similar, I only have the 3ds and wii and old SNES and GameCube but these games would likely be ds or wii types. Suggestions? Harvest Moon, Sims...never played any other quite like this with character interaction. More wifi interconnection maybe, if not is ok, the ds wasn't built for mic chat. Wish it was. Anyone that can make a list of their favs if they love AC and are somewhat similar or just really good games, would love that.

You already covered the obvious suggestions (HM, Sims), but have you checked out the Rune Factory games? They're basically spinoff Harvest Moon games, but I hear they have their own charms.

There's that Fantasy Life game that is coming out/came out recently. That seems to be in the same genre.

Otherwise... Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: My Life as a King maybe? I dunno, there doesn't seem to be much in the genre of 'stylized fantasy life simulator,' at least as far as I know.

I've heard good things on here about Disney Magical world from people who like Animal Crossing style games, though it's yet to come out where I live so I haven't been able to try it yet. Apparently it's not as kiddy as it looks, so don't be put off by that.

You should also consider Pokemon. I think X and Y are really great or you can always just wait for the new ones that are coming out. They're not that similar to Animal Crossing but I know a lot of Animal Crossing fans like them, including me.

Disney's Magical World, Fantasy Life, and Harvest Moon from what I've heard are great choices.

I hear comparisons to Fantasy Life but I also hear those comparisons aren't exactly accurate, just that both games have some similar qualities, not that they necessarily are similar. But it's something to keep in mind.

I suggest rune factory if you are big into character interaction. Great character development sub plots in there. It's also got an easy mode for those not too big into dungeon crawling ( as this is part of the storyline ) but I've played it on easy after completing it on normal, and it was very fun.

Harvest moon, sims, fantasy life, and pokemon were all covered it seems. There's nothing that quite captures the same essence as animal crossing, so unfortunately there isn't much else to suggest.

Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life is one of my favorite GameCube games. I recommend it.

The only game I can recommend is Magician's Quest: Mysterious Times, it's for the DS and alot of people compare it to ACWW. I own it and it's set up similarly. You start the game and you arrive in a wizard school that you name. You customize your character, then you go to the school and get some tutorials. You only have to come to the school a few times a week so you can learn magic and get your weekly "Grade"
You make money by selling mushrooms that you pick (they grow year round), you can catch bugs and fish and then trade them in for prizes you can later sell.
I've had the game about a month, so I don't understand everything, but I think it is enjoyable!
Your best bet in getting that game will be from Amazon, and I think my copy was 25 bucks.
