Hello! How come when I have campsite visitors come visit, they never want to move in? I'll give some context:

Last night I had an open plot. And I ended up island hopping and on my 2nd NMT I magically got Audie. I took her in. Today, she is moving in and at the same time Wolfgant appeared in my campsite! I love Wolfgang, so I played games with him and WON EVERY SINGLE ONE LOL. Then of course the moving in dialogue came up and I was like YES PLS MOVE HERE and he was basically like

ehhhh nah I'm good my friends wouldnt want me to

like sir.. WHAT FRIENDS?? MOVE HERE 😭😭 and when i keep talking to him he doesnt bring it back up. Isnt the point of having campsite visitors for having them move in and stuff? This isnt the first it happened to me either. The last campsite visitor I had didnt want to move in either (and no one was moving in or out that day).

Thanks for reading my ramble!
Am i doing something wrong?

It's just rotten RNG. How easy a camper is to get to move in is pure luck. I had a visitor today refuse 10 times on the wanting to move in dialogue, but after that I had them agree to play a game to move in.

You just have to keep trying.

I do think RNG was the wrong way to go when it comes to campsite mechanics.

Yeah, and if you lose the game and then ask them to move in again, sometimes they won't even make you play again. They'll just go straight to resident services

interesting... I've literally won every game buuut each game he just gave me rewards. then when i talked to him again he randomly brought up about moving in without the use of a game. and when I told him to move in he still said no like bruh...

but OK SOOO ur telling me I just have to keep trying??? then i shall lol let's see if I can get him

yeah sometimes it takes an absurd amount of time to get them moved in.

Yup just keep trying. I've heard horror stories of it taking hours to get a camper to move in and it doesn't seem far fetched to me.
  • It's random if the villager picks the dialogue to initiate a move in.
  • It's random if they agree to move in during the dialogue.
  • It's random if they make you play a game to move in or not.
  • The game itself is a random guessing game.
  • The villager they pick to replace is... random.

Understandably if you get unlucky the process can take.... a while. So many random elements.

the same happens to me! you just have to keep pestering them until they decide to move in and also you win the game which they suggest after they’re unsure of moving! good luck!

I suggest not playing the reward games(Unless its something your interested in) at all. It doesn't affect their chance to want to move in, so it just waists time. you just have to keep on trying.

You basically have to keep talking to them over and over even if you lose the card games (which are frustrating I know haha). They will always ask to move in eventually. Also, I believe that campsite visitors won't take empty plots. In other words, they will always prefer to replace someone who is already on your island. Make sure to close the game without saving (before finishing the conversation) if they ask to replace a villager you want to keep. Rinse and repeat until you get the desired outcome :)
