Campsite Villager Cycling Method?

I'm planning to do the campsite trick to look for Kid Cat once I got some amiibo cards since I have one of every personality at the moment. I'm still hoping to get Kid Cat through Mystery Island though, if only someone wants to move out. 😂

So ive been thinking and id probably have a much higher chance of finding chevre on islands than in the campaite since i have two normals and two goats on my island now. Just wish you didnt need an empty plot for villagers to show up on islands

@ScaryGhosts

I think you have much more luck with campsite because with island hopping, you have to be lucky with species roll first before you have a chance to roll on pool of characters within that species pool.

I didnt actually do the math but isnt it that youre more likely to run into the a particular villager if you have other villagers of the same species on your island? I also think it would be faster. Idk ill probably try campsite first but im not too worried about it right now.

I dont think thats true. I've campsite reset and seen the same smug villager. (looking at you CHOPS)
KENFKRJF CHOPS he was my forced camper 🙃. Well, every guide says it is almost impossible to see the same visitor twice (even the official guide says that), so maybe you were *that* unlucky....

i dont think i was unlucky because i actually never saw any smugs that lived in my town. (Raymond, quillson, julian, marshal and o'hare. )So im thinking there's a limitation on campsite resetting. I msg'd the guy who wrote the guide to see if he has any inputs on this.

Exactly, the smugs shouldnt appear bc you saw them already (even if it wasn't on your campsite), unless you already saw every villager ever. But I dont know... Yeah, they probably can clear it better ^^

I tried this method to get Reneigh but it seems it doesn't work if you already had that villager on your island at some point. BUT it did pretty much cycle me through all the uchi villagers. I didn't have an uchi on my island at the time.

@ScaryGhosts

It will not. According to datamine info and the research that @ctar17 did, the game will always roll species first and it will not taken into account if you have a lot of a specific species and rule that in. Campsite method is a surefire way to get your specific villager as long you increase your chances.

Right so if it rolls goat and there are x number of goats in the game and i have two goats on my island then its 1/#number of species x 1/#number of villager in the species - the ones you have. I dont think most people are willing to increase their chances with the campsite by getting rid of villagers theyd rather keep, youd just have to decide which method has the best odda for you.

I'm getting villagers consistenly by doing like this: when you see a villager in your campsite and it's not the not you want, go back to real time, open the game, save, close, travel 6 days forward, and go one day by one until Isabelle announces a visitor. It can still take like two weeks, but my average is getting a visitor after three to five days. edit: btw idk if it makes any difference I'm doing like this to not be spoiled of other seasons lol
But yeah, being slow is part of the process, but the odds are higher and it's free, and you can do it basically with your brain turned off so it's not that bad

So you’re basically TTing within the same time period? You go to May 6, then 7, then 8, see a camper you don’t want, and go back to April 29. You then go to May 6, 7, 8, etc.?

This would be more attractive to me than going to winter and beyond. If so, I‘m tempted to start but I’ll probably wait until the lull after the Earth Day event.

For example, there are I think 11 wolves, so if you had ten, you’d be guaranteed Audie if the game rolled wolf.

Edit: Of course, you could only have nine to get a NMT villager so you’d have 50/50 if the game rolled wolf.

Yes! I'm basically cycling through May. I also really don't want to see other seasons, when I got to June and saw the changes, I already freaked out haha. It's been very consistent and having the same outcome as expected in the normal method (mostly campers are the personality you don't have, higher chances after 6 days, yara yara).

Hello!
I have been casually working on Raymond for the past three days and I figured a little insight might be useful to folks who want to do this too!

*You DO get more of the villager type that you don't currently have! (I have NO smugs so I've been finding every smug under the sun, I am down to only eight I haven't met yet, Raymond being one of them)
*You DO still occasionally see other villagers too but its less than the personality you're missing for sure! ( I saw Moe, saddest moment of my personal search for sure, gosh darn soft spot I have for lazies I swear).

My Method!
1. Go to the first of the next month; In this case, May
2. Check in with Isabelle, if she doesn't say anything about a camper, leave to the main menu, shut the game off, and go to the next day.
3. Repeat this within a 15 day time span until a villager shows up (usually they will show up within those fifteen days, I've only had it once where they didn't, I'll explain what to do if they don't.)
4. Visit the campsite to see which villager it is, check in with your villagers if you'd like
*(pull weeds because boy will they get arduous if you don't take the time to do so now.)
5. If its not the villager you want, save, close the game again, and TT seven days out.
6. Check in with Isabelle, if she doesn't say anything about a camper, close the game, go back to the 1st and start again.

**FOR FIFTEEN DAYS WITHOUT A CAMPER : just go back to the 1st after the fifteen days are up and start the process again, easy ovo
When you Find One!
1. When you find the camper you want make sure to save the first time you speak to them, and every time you win a game with them after, just in case you end up with the move-in game.
2. Play the move-in game so long as you saved before it, if you win and they pick a villager you don't want to move out, or if you lose, shut the game off, come back in, play again.
3. They will pick a different random villager each time.
4. Keep doing this ridiculously difficult task until they pick the villager you want to see leave and viola : D

Fifteen days is a lot more manageable than going through an entire month or year or what have you trust me, and like I said, I've only ever had it ONCE where I made it through the fifteen without a camper so... I definitely recommend this over any other method

Good Luck!
-^ ^-

i'm doin it rn for audie, it's kind of turning my brain to mush but i won't give up until i see her...!

I did this exact method to get Raymond and did after 4 hours. There’s no risk of losing villagers on your island. Definitely make sure you don’t have the personality of the villager you’re searching for on your island. Your odds go up in finding the villager you seek.

Sorry just got back on to check my alerts!

Here is my friend's guide:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1c8rsKWWtwsOo_JOxwO-lVRx2MUhc-bcdZg1mhXgtRPg/edit?usp=sharing

Lots have used it, not myself, but I have hard of many success stories
Does require TTing though, and may take a bit, but more reliable than Mystery Islands (especially for YOU KNOW WHO lol)
This is the document I used. It was in the description of a video by TagBackTV. Very informative and eased my mind about losing villagers to TT.

I actually never TT’ed backward. I started at present day and just did the method going forward. I guess it doesn’t really matter, but I found Raymond by November. Seeing the new season was weird though. I just was afraid I’d mess up the camper days if I went backward.

I did the campsite method and I never encountered any repeat villagers out of 120+ villagers I've met.
Those you've met on the islands can appear though since those two are separate.

I thought tting backwards resets the list? That’s what I heard.
Yeah I’d suggest just TT’ing forward. There’s no risk in losing villagers.

I think it’s been confirmed that the campsite cycles through villagers that haven’t been to the campsite first, which is another reason the campsite is better for finding a specific villager.
