Campsite Reset

I got a villager in my campsite and I was looking up how to keep her came across this "campsite reset" topic
Anyone explain what it is or how to do it?

If you want to keep the villager in the campsite, you first have to have room for them to move in. That means having 9 villagers or less.
If you have 10, they can't move in.

Next you talk to them. Keep talking to them an do anything they ask you, and eventually they'll say something along the lines of "maybe I should move in".
Say yes, you should.
Sometimes they will say they don't want to leave their town, but just keep going.
Eventually they will agree to move in.

Campsite resetting:
Is when you make a new character, go to the campsite to see if anyone is there.
If someone IS camping, and you want them to stay in there, follow the steps to get that new character a house and save the game. Then hop on your mayor character and go ask them to move in.
If it is someone you don't want, just quit without saving the character. And redo until either you get someone you want, or get tired of it.

Wait, so even if your mayor goes by the campsite earlier that day and there's not a camper there; if you create a new character then a camper will be there?

no, you have to start the new day as a new character. if you log into the game as your mayor and there isn't a tent and then you decide to create a new character and try to re-set you'll always end up with an empty campsite for that day.
