Campsite method

Has anyone else had poor luck with the campsite method as of recent? I’ve been trying to do it for normals today and have gotten more of other personalities when normals are the ONLY personality I’m missing on my island.. at first I just felt unlucky, but it’s getting to the point I’m questioning if they altered it somehow! Let me know your recent experiences please

If I'm remembering the numbers correctly, it's a 60% chance to get the personality type that you're missing. You may just be getting unlucky with that 40% chance.

Yeah, I know it’s not an exact 100% chance ! Just know when I did it before it felt A LOT more consistent than this, but I could just be awfully unlucky today sadly haha

When I did the campsite method for Dom, only 46% or so were jocks. It did get discouraging, especially when I got 4-5 villagers of other personality types in a row. I think Miss Misty is right, you might just be getting that 40% chance.

Did you eventually get him at least?! I think it’s aggravating because there are SO many normals lol

I DID! It took me 2 days of cycling out campsite villagers. I had to watch youtube to avoid going insane. I was really worried since there are way too many jocks too. ;-;

tysm! I think I need the motivation because my boyfriend actually ended up getting the villager I wanted and I was a bit salty haha

I’ve spent over 100 at this point haha it’s insane

I was unlucky at first. If you TT backwards at any point, it messes the whole thing up. I realized this after a day or two of cycling. I TTed forward a year, and that seemed to help. What made me feel better was telling myself that I was saving NMT by using this method instead of island hopping

i haven't been trying per se. when purrl moved out i had no snootys and i was only getting snootys in my camp, bare in mind this was 4 times in a row im talking about not a very long period of time. then paula my only sisterly moved out and i got molly a normal duck from a mystery island. so now im expecting to get snooty or sisterly in my camp. i am hoping for snooty only because im trying to help a friend get vivian.

aaH, if it gives you a bit of hope, once you meet a villager, the campsite tries not to give it to you again until you've seen all of the villagers you possibly could. If you actually manage to cycle through all the villagers, then it'll ignore if you've seen them already or not and just give you villagers randomly. But hh, I don't think you've gone through 400~ villagers.
It made me feel better cycling for dom, knowing that every time I found a jock, my odds for him got a tiny bit better--

I actually did the campsite method in the span of a month and only tted in the month of May back and forth! I had it go pretty okay?

wow you recorded all of them! since the normals are pretty number heavy personality I guess that’s why I’m mostly worried I have a lot to cycle through before even possibly getting my villager of choice

It's possible to have that kind of luck, but it's still a really good method. I looked it up and there are 71 normals and 65 peppies, so I got luckier than I thought at the time. Hopefully the same will be true for you.

I hope so! thanks for replying to start with I may try NMT for a bit and go back to campsite villager but it depends on if anyone will move out haha

I did that, too! I got tired of it and tried NMT islands for a day. You probably won't get a specific villager, but it's a nice break.
