I'll try to be as detailed with this story as possible. Last night I convinced a villager from another town to move into my town, causing my game file to believe there are a full 10 villagers in my town. I TT'ed one day ahead and checked all around town but didn't manage to find a plot of land where their house would be set up by Nooks' Homes. A few minutes later, I checked my campsite and I found a dreamie I've been looking everywhere for in the tent. Is there any way I can get this dreamie to move into my town? I've been asking her nonstop to see if she'll give me the option to convince her to move into my town, but after about 15 minutes of asking her there's been no luck. Is there anything I can do at this point to convince this dreamie to move into my town?

No, sorry, when you ask a camper to move in, it usually takes a couple days, stuff like that has happened to me before, dude. I feel you.

It's kind of strange the villager you adopted didn't put down their plot the next day.. Though I've heard many different stories about people who TT to see if there's a plot. I believe it took some people a few days to even weeks of TTing to see the plot.

But in your case, it's actually better if that adoption got cancelled somehow, right? Let me ask you this: after you adopted the villager, did the other person send you home? Or did they save and continue? If the latter: were you properly sent home after that or did an error end the session? If an error occurred there, the adoption most likely got cancelled. If not, I'm not sure if you can ask your camper to move in.

Also, is that person you adopted from still on the same day? If so, you can ask them to see what the sign on that villager's house says. If it says "moved out", the villager will probably still show up sometime and I think they already count as a 10th villager in that case. If the sign doesn't say that, or if the villager is still walking around town, the adoption got cancelled somehow.

For what it's worth though, with Chrissy it took me well over half an hour to get her to play a game with me that would let her move into my town. Every time I'd invite her to come live in my town, she made up some excuse about not wanting to leave her old town/they couldn't miss her there, etc.. So if your dreamie says stuff like that, too, that doesn't necessarily mean they can't move in. I'd definitely keep at it a bit longer to see if they'll move in!

I think you still can convince them but it'll cancel the other move in. Convincing campers can take a long time.

Villagers you adopt from another town may take a couple of days to form a plot from my experience, but the game will still *know* that they're going to be moving in (or maybe I just don't check my plots rigorously enough)

The former. They sent me home. And I'm sure the person's day has changed because this incident happened on Thursday night. I'm just gonna TT back to yesterday (the 3DS clock hasn't gone to tomorrow 6:00 am yet) to keep the dreamie in the tent and try to convince her to move into my town.

PS, during the time I talked to this dreamie not once did they mention that they were thinking about moving to my town. I know there are cases when it takes a while to get a campsite villager to move into your town simply because they are still attached to their old town, but she hasn't made any mention of her old town in the 15-20 minutes I've been bothering her.

Check your letters- sometimes there will be a letter that says that they couldn't move in

In that case, I fear it might not be possible to get the camper to move in, but don't take my word for it. I wonder if there's a way to tell from the dialogue whether she can move in or not. I never really talk to campers when I'm full, so I hope someone else can shed some light on this.

Just out of curiousity, who's in your campsite? :)

Merengue. I didn't want to disclose the name in the original post because she's the tier one, number one villager, but she's actually extremely cute and I would love having her in my town.

I just got her one of the starting villagers in my new town. She's pretty good.

I don't think people are going to bother you about giving her to them if that's what you were afraid of. At least, I'd like to think the people here don't do that crap.

I've never had her, but I think she looks adorable. :) I hope you can get her!

I've had an experience like this before, I was adopting two villagers in the same day (and having only 8 villagers in my town) but the first villager I spoke to did not move in. When you ask a second villager to move in, it cancels the first one.

Did you speak to Merengue on the same day you adopted the other villager? If not, then I don't think you can get her :/

Did a house plot appear at all?

It was a separate day, and there was no house plot to be found. I TT'ed to the next day and the villager's house appeared at a place I checked previously.

I don't think that you can invite a camper into your town when there is already someone else moving in, the spot should be filled already. I hope I'm wrong though! Good luck! <3

I'm almost certain that someone can't come to your town and request that a villager in your campsite move to their town. I might be wrong but I don't think so. As for your problem, sometimes villagers take a few days to plot down. I am afraid that you might have to let this little Merengue go free in the wild which totally blows for you, and I'm sorry.
