Is their a certain list of villagers that go in the campground tent or is it everyone just at random?

As long as they were in the game before Welcome Amiibo, they can visit your campsite. As far as I know it is completely random who shows up.

iirc you can manipulate your campsite the same way you plot reset (create a new character and check who's camping. if you don't want that camper, then quit the game without saving and try again; if you do want them, then save and delete the character from the main menu). However, it's random when campers appear so it's kind of a tedious process to go through every time you start the game.

I thought to some extent it could be controlled. Let's say your town has 8 villagers, then (in my experience atleast) more campers will show up, compared to 9 villagers. Campers will still show up, just not as often if you had 8 animals in town. If you have 10, then I'd say campers don't show up.

Ofcourse, if you have 8 villagers, then that means an animal is going to move in town pretty soon, anywhere from 2-4 days. So you have a short time span on restarting to get a decent camper. Plus, I think the camper is random personality-wise, there really isn't any controlling it like there is with plot resetting.

No, I'm pretty sure you can still get campers when you have 10 villagers, for the sake of playing the games to win the unique furniture. You just can't ask the camper to move in.

& for the record, I didn't say I recommended resetting for a camper lmao. I was just pointing out that it is theoretically possible, despite it pulling from the full list minus whoever is in your town/void. If you're dead and determined to get a specific dream villager from the campsite, you're gonna have a bad time.

Man how messed up would it be thou if you got a dreamie in your campsite while you had 10 villagers ;_;

Now that you say that, I do remember a certain dread of that happening, esp in Moriyo where I am usually maxed out with villagers.

I'm not usually full in my town for long, but I definitely remember not going into the tent/igloo when I had 10 villagers because I didn't even want to know who was in it lmao. I've read horror stories about people having that very situation happen.

Thank you all! I hope this gets put in switch

I hope so too. I like the campers not being your own villagers (it was super obnoxious on the Gamecube because they were your own villagers and you couldn't interact with them normally when they were camping).
