Hello! In my second town, I am one villager away from getting ten. My plan is to get 10 villagers, and then kick out the ones I don't need and get the ones that I do. I read somewhere that when you plot reset, if you didn't get the villager from someone else, the house plot will belong to a different villager every time.

I already have Sprinkles which is one of the villagers that I need, and she's in the perfect spot :)

So I need some help from pro plot resetters. Do I have to cover my entire town in paths and leave spots open where I want them to move? I have a lot of questions but I don't know how to form them so I'll just let you guys give me tips lol and I'll ask as we go. Thank you!

Yep! You don't need to cover every square inch, but it wouldn't be a bad idea for good measure.

All you need to do is place a pattern down wherever a 3x3 villager house might plop down. A villager-sized free plot of land is practically an invitation, so check, check and double check to make sure there isn't enough space for them to plop down their plot on a bad spot.

I would.
There is almost *always* a 3x3 made up of bushes etc, that you didn't notice when you thought you had it all covered.. until a villager plots right on it!

Leave a few 3x3's, with a spot for the door, like this:

XXX
XXX
XXX
..X...

Then go for it! ^_^

The easiest thing to do is to make an alt character to create tiles everywhere. You don't need to cover every pattern, but I had so much bad luck plot resetting and villagers just being so stubborn, that I covered as much as I could. Because I'd think, now I'm good! And boom! They plotted somewhere that I didn't even think of or think was possible.

When they get in your desired spot, then you can delete the alt and all the paths will go away. You don't have to spend more time taking them down one by one.

And if they don't plot right away, the next alt character would have to lay them down all over again.

I'd have your mayor do it.
Then patterns are down, and you've saved it, and when you plot reset with the alt character, then remove them.
