How do you guys organise your bushes? I am trying to line my paths but I can't figure out how to do them. Do you line the path with the same bush or do you have different bushes for different parts of town? And if you have the same bush all the way around, which one?

I know this sounds nitpicky but I really can't decide what to do.

I like to use hydrangeas and sweet olive shoots. In the run up to Winter I replace some bushes with holly shoots. I usually put them in a line, and sometimes I make bush flower bed fences

With my town, I used sweet olive bushes to line my pathways.
I am not a fan of placing random bushes next to each other (I actually really hate it lol)
But since we can't put more than 12 bushes next to each other, I alternated the Sweet olives with Orange Lilies, and it looks really nice in the end and I love having the same thing all over my town, looks very clean

You have to remember that you can only plant 12 bush in total in row /trees count as one of the 12.A good way to get more bush in the same row is 12 bush then 1 flower +12 +flower repeat ;) I like to have the same bush in the same row as some bloom in different seasons ( azalea +holly + azalea ect ) the azalea will bloom before the holly .

That sounds really nice. I like the sound of having just one bush lining the paths but then sometimes my paths are near villager houses and I like to match them to whatever the villager house looks like. Do you have other bushes than the ones you mentioned in your town? I never thought of using bushes to make a flower garden, I'll have to do that!

No I'm not a fan of that either. I like the sweet olive bushes, maybe I'll have just those lining my paths. I do love a nice clean look.

I alternated white and pink azaleas along the paths in my town.

That sounds pretty. I have so many pink azaleas waiting to be planted.

Yeah, it sucks we can't line more up. I do the flower trick too, it looks pretty. I currently have different bushes for different areas of town depending on how they match but it's a bit too muddled for my obsessiveness haha.

I don't like lining paths with bushes because it looks too unnatural to me. Certain portions I'll end up doing, but I won't have a constant string or large collection of bushes anywhere.

Right now I'm only collecting the holly one (because it looks the best and most natural for the feel I'm trying to create). The current plan is to pop a few around lamp posts, in front of town hall, and few scattered around paths. It's hard for me to picture what I'll be doing with them now because I still don't have all my villagers/PWPs sorted out yet.

In my previous town I did sections with each type of bushes. That way a different part of my town would bloom in each season. I also lined the paths with bushes. I alternated bushes and flowers along the path so nothing would die and matched the flower colour with the bloom colour.

I actually line my paths with trees, since I only use one tile paths for the most part. but I put bushes between them~ I find it adds a really pretty woodsy feeling.

I also use random bushes. Whatever's available. I have a few sections of yellow hisbiscus bushes because I bought a lot, but for the most part it's all random

Before I realized how many different bushes there were I just placed random ones in a line or in between the line of trees by my paths ways. If I had to start from the beginning I would pick certain bushes for certain areas or pick a pattern for them to be planted in.

After putting up my paths I would have smaller areas where I could put a set of PWPs. If it's an attraction site (zen garden, tower, flower clock, etc.), then I would line the area or at least the PWP with bushes and trees. If it's just a walkway, then I don't bother to put any bushes.

I'm using mostly hydrangeas to frame my trainstation and trickle them down paths. I don't use them for much of my paths, it's mostly where there is ingame-cobble, like outside the trainstation, townhall and such, that I like to frame with bushes to help guide guests to where the paths start :)

I use hydrangeas and azaleas in my town. I put them along my paths in lines of bush type, with alternating colors. So, lines of pink and white azaleas and lines of pink and blue hydrangeas. I sometimes use them to surround PWPs, like my well and fountain.

I was recently in a dream town that had clusters of trees and bushes. I liked that, but probably won't do it in my town. I've seen random placements of trees/bushes/flowers that look really nice, but I don't do random well.

I've used hydrangeas to surround my coffee shop, azalia bushes to line some of my paths, and random bushes to surround my hot spring.

In my town, I line my paths with bushes. It just gives a nice border to them and such. The only bush starts that I use are red hibiscus since they're so pretty. I have two yellow hibiscus by the police station since I feel like copper would like them more than the red ones c:

I'll be using pink hydrangeas in my town. After playing for over a year, I've decided to have more a color scheme than a real theme to my town. Mostly white and purple flowers with a few pink ones for accent, with peach trees as my only fruit-bearing trees and pink hydrangeas. I considered alternating and using a few white azaleas as well, but I'm not a very big fan of the color of the bush. It's still a complete work in progress, but I've been using Paint to test ideas.

I currently have some blue and pink hydrangeas and pink and white azaleas in my town even though I've decide that the theme of my town in blue, white, and gold roses(it's gorgeous actually)

All your towns sound so lovely, I think I'll probably keep one bush for lining my paths and have others in other parts of my towns. I love hearing how everyone uses bushes so please keep the suggestions coming!
