So I need a bit of help with planting my bushes. I know there is the whole thing about 12 in a row and all, and there are many guides but they all seem to confuse me so I'm asking for some simple, dumbed down help.

Basically, I want to have two rows of 10 bushes in each row, with two squares in between them. I already planted 5 on each side and left it overnight and they all grew fine. But I am wondering, if I planted 5 more in the spaces I left (shown in the photo below) will they grow or wilt? That would make a total of 20 bushes in the area.

I've just spent a lot of money and time getting a lot of pink hydrangea starts and I don't want to risk any of them wilting.

Oh, and I also have two other bushes about six squares up from what you can see in the photo, if those matter.

I think it should be fine, as I have paths like that with bushes running along both sides without a problem, however, sometimes there are just dead spots that you can't really do anything about. If any of them do die, I'd contribute it to that, because you should be just fine to plant.

(Also, love your icon :) Infinite is great)

I just wasn't sure two rows of 10 would be too many, as I've seen people say 'no more than 12 an acre' but I can't figure out what an acre is supposed to be in this game haha. I've never had anything die in those areas, trees or otherwise, so my main concern is there just being too many bushes and having one die.

(Yay, Infinite's my favorite)

I've always just heard no more than 12 touching, and that's how it's generally worked out for me.

An acre is a 16x16 area, but I'm sure you can have more than 12 in an acre, I have an acre in my own town that definitely has more than 12.

The problem with dead spots is simply having too many plants in one area. I don't know any numbers or anything myself, but if you want to grow any trees in the area, grow them afterwards. For whatever reason, bushes are more "sensitive" to over-vegetation than trees are, and that usually solves dead spots.

It should be just 12 touching and anything more than that it'll be a problem, but there are pics and stuff that show some will wilt if too much are in an acre. I would recommend then to just plant one at a time to be cautious. Bushes are always iffy, so hopefully the one at a time thing would prevent dead spots from forming.

Thanks everyone. I'll just try and take it slow and plant the remaining ones a day at a time.
