I followed all the rules, only twelve bush starts including trees can be planted in a connecting row, should have a one tile buffer around PWPs, everything!! I don't understand, this happened before when there were no PWPs around and only three bush starts connecting!

Any ideas why this happened?

Dead spots; they're just random areas on the map where nothing will grow. You can still put flowers down, but bushes and trees will die.

Woah, thank you!! I've never heard of this before! I guess I'll just put down blue roses there : (

I actually think you just might have too many bushes in one area. Pretty sure there was a limit for that too, though I don't know the exact number. But on this picture alone I think I can see 23 bushes (including the ones still growing), so I think that might be your problem.

The same thing has happened to me where one of my bushes died. I think you just have too many bushes planted. I had a lot too when mine died.

I'm sorry to get off topic but where can I find those paths?! Oh my gosh they would be perfect for my cosmic themed town.

Thanks for everyone's input! Last time this happened, I experimented and lost two pink hydrangeas : ( I just dug up the isolated bush starts to make it even, and would probably replace with flowers.

And I made the paths myself! Good to see another space themed town! :^)

The first dead sapling has a plant to its left and right, which smothers it. The dead sapling in the top right corner has a plant to its left and below it, which smothers it.
Try planting each sapling one day at a time in order.

Dead spots do not exist.

I think that there's too many planted at once. Try digging up them and starting again, planting one by one each day.

Lovely paths, by the way.

I tried an experiment. I dug up the isolated bush starts (the ones below me and the one above the time) and planted one pink hydrangea. Th next day, it died, so I struck out that I had too many bush starts in one area. It most likely is the idea that there are random dead spots around town where trees and bush starts can't grow.

Too many bushes in one area, try killing off some and then slowly planting them back one by one. It seems theres always a bush that bugs the other one so removing it will let it grow. Then when you're done just put the old ones back in and pray nothing bugs their growth. Had the same problem once myself so yeah.

Nope thats absolute bs. Deadspots dont exist. Try digging up some other ones, its really just a puzzle. You gotta guess which one is bugging another.

Yeah, I haven't struck out that I have too many bush starts planted completely. As I said, I dug up two and replanted one in a spot a previous one died, but it still died. I don't think I'll experiment further I've wasted enough bush starts.

Did you get around these yourself?

Yes, one of my towns is full of bushes. I had that stuff die multiple times.

Also its been a while but I remember burying 1k bags being a good way to get your trees to stay alive. I remember some of my trees being tricky. But 1k bags would stay alive in those bs too much on screen situations.

I plant my bush starts 4 a day. Never going past a row of 12. Its a little quicker than 1 a day but it works everytime for me.

It appears from research that the max number of trees and bushes within a 7x7 area is 15. It's a little hard to tell from your picture, but I think you've just got too much going on in the area.

Im counting some of my busy areas here and it seems I have over 15 in a 7x7 area. 19 in this 7x7 area. huh. Made a chart of it

Theres also one tree i forgot to mark there, 3 down from the upper left corner
Might just break the path and slap some trees there to see if they survive

Thanks for everyone's input. I guessed there was a 7x7, like in the older games I think? Still a theory though. I think replanting these lost bushes is a job for another day since I have other spaces to plant!
