Bush Help >_<

I have an area in my town where there is a Fountain and it is surrounded by bushes.
I had it with random bushes for a while while I got all the ones I need to switch them.
I started changing the bushes to new ones of all the same type but I have this one spot where the bush keeps dying? Is there a reason for this? Because there was a bush there before that fully grew...
Theres still a lot I don't know about ACNL and maybe I'm missing something here? Any help would be really handy, thanks!

And a shrub grew there before? Have you changed the patterning at all? Because that is pretty odd.

Yeah, it definitely did.. The only thing I have changed is... The flowers beside it. But that can't change it can it? This is really weird >_< And if it doesn't grow that whole area doesn't look right :'(

I've had this happen before with a tree. I chopped down a tree that was original to my town to switch it out with a cedar tree and it wilted. :/

edit: It was in a very northern spot in my town, near the train tracks.

I know for ceder trees at least that they can only grow in certain areas of town, if they are to far in the southern area they will die... hmm it could be that the type of bush you're trying to grow is picky like that?

i think there's a limit on how long rows can be and how many can be in a certain area.

i've heard about people having troubles with trees that should be able to live, but dies but i haven't heard about bushes

Also it would be great if u posted pictures so we could see what's not working ;;

Hmmm... I have a picture of before I changed it;

Its the sweet olive on the top left area. I switched it for a Hydra- (I dunno how to spell it XD)- one and now it keeps dying. The only changes recently, is the flowers to the left of it

whaatttt that's so weird, i don't get why it would do that ): good luck with finding a solution though.
if nothing else works you could dig up more of the and try to replant them day by day ;; mot sure if that would work though

It's probably because it's boxed in.
I've had trouble with trees/bushes wilting if they're completely surround by trees/bushes/flowers/paths on all sides.
I'm willing to bet if you kick up one tile next to it then plant it'll grow normally, then put the tile back down and viola!

Otherwise it could be that there's more than 12 connecting bushs/tree/stumps. I can't remember if it's the 12th or 13th that'll wilt. But there's a max on how many you can have in a row, even touching diagonally counts.
