Anyone here keep a bullet journal of thwir game? I am looking to start one, but I have never done it before. So I was looking for tips, suggestions and advise
my best advice to you, as someone who's been trying to get into bullet journaling for a few years now, is simplicity is honestly the best way to go. if you start to over-work yourself with details and designs, it becomes a tedious task and you get overwhelmed with it.
there's a few good youtube videos you can watch on simple bullet journals that i found a lot of inspiration from. it wont be the best in terms of helping you decide what to put in your journal, as they're mostly for everyday life, but it'd be easy to convert it into your own wants and needs for your island.
something like this might be a good start to get the ball rolling for you![]()
I tried to start bullet journaling because I’ve always loved stickers and stationery. But once I started watching YouTubers with their perfect calligraphy skills and artistic talent, I felt inadequate and gave up. I got way too focused on the aesthetics instead of the functionality. So think the advice from @6iixx is excellent. Start simple and functional. Don’t look at too much inspiration on YouTube or Pinterest or IG - some of these people are full time “influencers” that make pretty spreads because they get paid to.

exactly. it was a huge de-motivator for me in the end because i'm a huge perfectionist, and my journal pages weren't coming out remotely like theirs.
you'll most likely get into things like calligraphy, or doing doodles, etc., as you go, but let that be on your own time and with your own influence and inspiration. don't feel like you have to make everything look bright and colourful and full of detail instantly. the minimalist bullet journals are just as beautiful, if not more in some ways, than ones that are spruced up with markers, etc.
found another video that i've personally watched all the way through several months ago, and it helped me out quite a bit as well with my battle between visual over content.
honestly, when it comes to doing things with my hands, i love getting into this type of stuff as well so i completely understand. It's funny you mentioned calligraphy because it was one of the thungs that drew me towards bullet journaling. Not that I really know what I am doing lol. Well thar and the creatice aspect. I tend to get artsy moods this time of year. So most my new hobbies tend to be on that scale. Its sti good advice. I might make a few simple pages and go from there.
