Building my mayor's house near a bridge

So I just made a new town and would like to build the mayor?s house near the beach next to the down facing river & waterfall . I also want to build a bridge at the waterfall... could I still build the bridge if there are only two squares seperating it from the mayor?s house (to the right)? I know the update loosened the rules on building bridges a bit, but I?m not sure if I should risk building the mayor?s house there or if I should choose another place if I still want to build the bridge there later. Any opinions?

from your description, i think it sounds fine, but if you could show us a picture (of nook's "this is what it would look like" vision, for example), it might be easier to tell.
i have a character house on the edge of the cliff and next to a bridge in a way that sounds similar to your description:

it worked fine, so hopefully yours does as well!! (you can't see in the picture, but the downward facing waterfall is jUST off the edge of the picture below the bridge )

Thats basically how my house is set up also but I hate the way it looks with my paths.

This is fine if you build the bridge first, but if you build a house that close to the river then Isabelle won't let you put a bridge there later, unfortunately

actually, i think it's okay to build the bridge after- that's what i did! the house in the photo is a 2nd character house and i just built the bridge there recently...
