Bug Off prizes - not so random?

So, I really love the bug set and want to complete it. I farmed prizes in my friend's town a while ago, but there were 5 items I haven't gotten. So I thought, no problem, I'll do it in mine.

I've reset the game many times today and Nat literally keeps giving me the same items over and over, even if I already have multiples in my inventory. Literally, a bunch of firefly lamps, ladybug chairs and caterpillar sofas. I think I have like 4-5 of each by now.

So my theory is - what's up with that, the RNG isn't completely random? What are your experiences with it, guys?

There are 2 bug sets just like there are 2 fish sets so you'll probably have to wait for the next bug off.

Does it depend on the month then? Or just on the particular contest?

I TTed to end the bug off then started it again and I am getting the same prizes, so now I started to think that the sets might depend on the month, it just struck me now.

I have no idea which months give which set. I just know there's 2 sets because I looked at the thonky guide.
