Hello everyone!

I'm new to AC, so my town is less than a week old. Hence, there are still villagers moving in. Today, I used the reset-trick to get a villager I liked. I got Lionel and was happy, so I didn't even think twice and saved.

Only now has it occured to me that he has reserved a very, very bad spot since he placed his house basically next to my bridge. I want to replace said bridge with one of a different style as soon as I unlock it, but I am afraid that Isabell might not let me. As such, I'm scared to demolish the bridge now since I absolutely want and need one there, no questions asked.

This is the spot in question:

Since I have no experience with the game, but have heard that house positions cause PWP problems, it would be great if someone with bridge building experience can tell me if putting a new bridge in the same spot would work or if I have to either live with the current one or drive Lionel out - both things that would make me sad. :(

I'm not quite sure. Lionel's house doesn't look TOO close to the bridge, so I'm pretty sure that Isabelle would let you demolish it and build another one there.

Though I'm not 100% positive..

By the looks of it, Lionel would have to move out for you to rebuild it there.
It might be possible with a bit of tweaking to get Isabelle in the right spot to build it there but I wouldn't count on it I'm afraid.

I've had Isabelle say it's too close to a residents house when the house was quite far away from where I wanted it. Because it's on a slant it might be a little different but I'm not sure.

Wow, thank you for the super-quick answers! :)

Another question: Is there a way for me to "check"? I have no experience with time travelling, as I want to avoid it, but is there any way I can basically demolish the bridge and then try to build a new one without saving (since I don't want to be stuck without a bridge in case Isabell is mean)?

No, there is no way to check. You have to tell Isabelle that you want to demolish the bridge and then it is done 'overnight', so it won't be gone until 6am the next day and you can't request to have a new bridge built in the same spot until the old one is gone. Even if you request that the bridge gets demolished at 5:55 am and wait for the new day to begin at 6am, the game automatically save at 6am to begin the new day. So again, there is no way to "check".

Well, that's just unlucky then. :( Since I don't have the other bridge-style that I want there yet so far anyway, I guess I'll just keep going for now and see how well I like Lionel. And then decide if I either take my chances and try to put a new one there with him still living in my town or drive him out first. Aaah, so unlucky. Stupid villagers and their bad house decisions. He's not the first one who's in a bad location...

Anyway, thank you so much for the super-quick help! :D
