brewster won't let me work?

I have been going into brewsters cafe between the times of 11.00am to 11.00pm but he says 'sorry I don't need any help' can someone tell me how to work?!?!

1. This is in the wrong section, but I see why you got confused since the section is called 'Brewster's Cafe'
2. There might be an event going on in your town e.g: fireworks or summer solstice. You probably time travelled.

He wouldn't let me work if I had already worked that day - you can only work once a day - OR if it was an event in town. Otherwise, you should be able to work once a day.

Also if your gate is open he won't let you work either

Make sure:
Your gates are closed.
It's not too early or late.
There isn't a event going on.
