Brewster won't let me work?

Does anyone know what's going on? For the past three days I've tried asking Brewster if I can work in the cafe but he keeps telling me "Sorry... I don't really need any help right this moment..."

I always ask between 11 AM and 11 PM (it's 3:45 PM right now, and he just said no)
My pockets aren't full
There are no special events going on (I don't even have any special visitors)
I haven't gotten all the Brewster items yet.

Shouldn't he let me work? Come on, Brewster :c

I have been time traveling a lot lately (getting villagers settled in). Could that maybe have something to do with it...? I'm so confused :/

Also make sure your gates aren't open. I never had it be random, tho, no matter how much I've TT'd. Only on special days, so I don't know why else he won't let you work.

My gates aren't open.
And yeah, I didn't think it was random either as he's never refused before for no reason. I'm worried it's a glitch since it has lasted about three days now

I'd say wait a few days. After I bought all the cups of coffee and bought a few take out he didn't let me work when it was an option. Be patient. In a matter of time you're going to be working there

Also apparently he let's you work when there's a villager/npc inside. Not sure if that's 100% true, but I worked around 12pm and there was always a villager inside, but I don't remember if there was always a villager when I went.

Maybe? I haven't actually been able to find Jack (since I was messing around with TTing) and I assumed I had just missed him. But yeah maybe you can't work until you've spoken with him..?

Nah, I've been able to work when there are NPCs or villagers in there and when there's no one else there. There aren't any in there now o:

I think Jack only appears from the 1st thru the 7th, so if that's it, you'll have a few more days. I'm in June, tho, so I can work for Brewster except for Bug-Offs, but I'm thinking it may be because Jack wants to make his grand entrance. I hope someone can confirm, but I think Jack may be the reason. Well, at least it's a thought!

Yeah, it's because of Jack. The whole week (Oct 1-7) is set aside for him whether you've talked to him already or not.

Yeah, I've worked there in the past. Just not within the past three days.
I now know it's because of Jack!
