You're in California!! That's awesome. I've always wanted to go!

Oh, and I wanted to thank you again for your post a few days ago, the one responding to my 1000 calorie diet idea. Thanks to you, I have changed a lot of things. You pretty much saved me from making a horrible life-changing mistake

Oh, that was you! I thought I recognized the avatar :)
I'm glad. I struggled with anorexia for a very long time because I thought "oh, I could probably lose some weight fast eating only 100 calories a day! Just for a while!" But pretty soon it became obsessive. 1000 turned into 800, turned into 500, turned into 200, turned into eating 100 to nothing at all. I went down to 80 pounds at 5'4". It was awful. I couldn't function, nothing was fun, I sunk into horrible depression and lost all of my friends, just because I thought I could lose a few quick pounds. My relationship with food took a long time to rebuild, and I can say with conviction that it will never be the same. Thankfully, I've learned to listen to my body, eat when I'm hungry, eat a lot, and work out regularly to stay healthy. I've gained 55 pounds since the depths of my eating disorder, and I'm truly happy with my body. Sure I have some excess pounds, but it's where I keep my energy! I can walk up a flight of stairs without having to sit down. I can walk a block without feeling like I'm dying, hell, I can walk 5 miles without feeling tired! I lift weights, have energy, and I'm a happy person now! I have some negative thoughts about my body on occasion, but who doesn't? My body is perfect because it's part of me, and it functions pretty darn well, and as cheesy as it seems, I have really learned to love the skin I'm in. I don't want what I went through to happen to anyone else, and that's why I spoke up on your post.

Aw, no need to apologize! You just brought a tear to my eye. ;u; I know that many people read your reply too, especially with so many guests on the forums as well as normal members, and took your advice to heart like I did. You are an inspiration! Ever since that message you wrote, I wanted to send you a PM to thank you. I'm really happy I could do that now ^^

I'm really glad that I could help someone from having to go through what I did :) I'm sure you're very beautiful no matter what weight you are! Honestly, it really is what's inside that counts (I'm a cheese master I know) :P

Thank you! It's okay to be cheesy. c; Cheese is delicious and great with macaroni

I wanted to lose weight because I'm about 10 pounds over what's considered normal for my height, and my parents have been verbally attacking me about it on a daily basis. They want me to get married soon, and in order to do that I must look as presentable as I can

Being stuck in an arranged marriage isn't fun, but that's a whole different topic altogether. Gah. I won't ramble about it

You're beautiful too! Don't forget that please ^^

Aw, I'm sorry about your parents and you're arranged marriage, it really doesn't sound fun. What helps me maintain my weight the best is a pedometer, especially ones like the garmin vivofit, since it updates your step goal daily depending on what your averages are, so it's always pushing you just a little bit more, but your goal is still attainable. When I started with my vivofit in december I was walking about 2 miles a day, but now I walk over 5, and it doesn't feel hard because it was such a gradual change. And I didn't even need to change my eating habits! I'm actually eating more now because I don't need to lose weight, I just wanted to get in better shape, but I unintentionally lost 6 pounds in a month without changing anything except meeting my step goal each day! I highly reccommend this gradual lifestyle change method, especially because it means you get to keep eating delicious food! The only drawback is it is a bit pricey, but worth it if you ask me :) Also, may I ask what school you go to? Just curious, as I did live in NY for a while. Not my piece of cake for living, but excellent for vacation imo ;)

Ahh Now I want a pedometer! You have really good methods when it comes to weight control. It's amazing, how far you've come and how far you'll go in the future.

My diet's been miserable (but happily bumped above 1000 calories) so I envy you and all the amazing food you get to eat. Maybe if I start exercising a bit more, I can do the same

My school is UAlbany ^^ How long have you lived in New York before you moved?
