Blocking Villager houses from areas?

Does anyone know if having PWP's in strategic places is the only way to block areas from villagers moving in?

Can you put furniture and clothes on the floor at the place you don't want someone to move to stop it? I know that trees and flowers don't stop them.

Nope at least not that I know of... Furniture, clothes or any other items are meant to turn up at lost property if a villager moves in on top of them. Same with paths too :3

Can tentatively confirm this, a new move-in landed on a sapphire where I'd broken a rock, there was a sapphire in lost property that day.

I don't have the police station yet, would that make a difference? I know probably not...

No it won't make a difference im afraid. But once you build your police station, your "crushed" items should be there c:
