Blathers hasn't requested 2nd floor?

Hey all. The requirements say for the museum's second floor to open, I have to have 20 items donated, at least 1 from every section. I have this requirement down. It's been at least 5 days since. Why hasn't he requested the second floor?

I thought it was 20 fossils and then at least one in every other section. Keep donating. He'll ask eventually.

You need to talk to him/donate something every day for 10-14 days I think, then he will request it

You must donate things everyday to unlock it

Make sure you're entering the museum during the hours when he's awake. He won't suggest anything if you talk to him during the day.

And I'm pretty sure the requirements are a total of 20 items, with at least one in each category. Because I definitely didn't have 50 things donated yet when he asked me for the renovation.

you have to donate at least 20 items. make sure to also donate 1 items of each category to the museum.

And yeah I've donated a painting. I have one of every item. So I don't know what I'm doing wrong :/

You have to donate 50 items before he'll mention the upgrade.

Hmm, how odd!! Because I was also having trouble with this and he finally suggested it on the 15th day of living in my town.
