I never go out on the morning of Black Friday. I don't care about shopping and sales.

It's the Friday after Thanksgiving. Stores have low prices and are open super early and people wait in line for stuff. There are sometimes fights and pushing for stuff. I've never attended. I love my bed.

It probably wasn't put in because I don't think the Japanese have even heard of Black Friday. They certainly don't have Black Friday.

The closest thing to Black Friday in Japan is the New Year's sales + fukubukuro. Fukubukuro literally means "lucky bag". Stores will stick random stuff in a bag and put a price on it and you're paying for whatever's inside that you aren't allowed to see before buying. Sometimes you get things that aren't worth as much as you paid. Sometimes you get something for super cheap. As an example of the latter, people have bought fukubukuro from the Japanese Apple stores, paid $300 for it, and got a $700 iPad or $1000 Macbook out of it.

Oh yeah, I remember they had lucky bags on sale in the gamecube AC.
