Best way to change town name?

I got acnl when I was super young. I stupidly named my town my personal name, so I’m stuck with it. I don’t have the heart to get rid of all my progress, so I want to change the name.I know you can’t change your town name, so does anyone have a good way to change to change. Like a save file editor, perhaps? Or an easier way, maybe?

You can’t, the only way is to reset your town.
You can also use a save editor, but I wont give more detail, since it’s against the rules.

What do you mean, it’s against the rules? I realize that you have to hack your 3Ds, but what rules?
