So we now have 3 remakes of past Pokemon games. Pokemon FR/LG, HG/SS, and OR/AS are all amazing in their own right. When it comes to a true perfect remake however we all have our opinions. My first personal Pokemon game was Pokemon Silver, and when the remakes came out I played them to death. To this day I swear that HG/SS were the most perfect remakes of any game I have ever played. Perfect as in so true to the original it almost is the exact same game with a graphical touch up. Now the music, oh how beautiful the music is. I have gone on several nostalgia trips just from hearing the National Park theme, or the absolutely amazing Violet City theme. In conclusion not only is the game play just spot on, but the music is as well. Now after playing through about half of Pokemon Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire I can already say that HG/SS remains my favorite remake of the series. Most of my complaints are with the music, and the layout. Now the town and route themes are for the most part spot-on so much so to the point to where I swear they sound the exact same as the GBA version. It's just the techno-y remixes of some of the songs in the game that annoy me. Those few Techno-y songs just so happen to be remixes of my favorite songs in the game (Route 113, Slateport, Dewford was too different, Rival encounter theme.) while I still hummed theme to death I still would have them rather been like the originals more like the other songs in the game. Mauville City made me mad, such an enormous change makes me angry. But that's just some of the game as a whole. Compared to X&Y OR/AS are gold plated with Diamond studs. OR/AS are amazing Pokemon games, and will be to some the greatest remake of all time but not me though. BTW Dat Verdanturf Town theme doh (And Contest Hall theme, the techno actually suits that song so well!!)

Johto for life.

Idk

FRLG was good because of the Sevii islands and **** so that was cool
HGSS was great
ORAS haven't finished it so I can't really say much about it

but so far I've really liked them all equally, I don't think I can say I like one better than the other, and if I had to pick one, I'd pick ORAS, solely because it's the most current and up to date with the new features.

Did I forget to mention my love of the contests returning? Crap! Well anyways I love the contests in the original game, so to see them return is what made me SUPER happy.

While I haven't played ORAS yet, I'm gonna have to say it's HGSS for me as well. Mostly because the feature where your pokemon follows you is the feature I love sooo much, but somehow they never included it in future games again :(

It's hard.

I haven't played ORAS yet, but I've heard good things about it already so let's begin.

FRLG, it's basically a better Gen 1 with an actual postgame.

HGSS adds a lot more features than FRLG and manages to improve on a lot of Gen IV's problems. (Though the slow battles are still there).

And ORAS...still haven't bought it as of now.

They're all really good. Leaf Green was my second Pokemon game, I loved it and never even knew it was a remake for a long time.. I really enjoyed it, however, there was lots of stuff I was unable to do because I didn't have a link cable, like access all of the Sevii Islands etc., so this one is last on my list.

Heart Gold and Soul Silver! This remake was so fun. Generation four is probably one of the best generations of Pokemon there was. I'd only shortly played Pokemon Silver when I was younger, so it wasn't much nostalgia for me, and it was my first real chance to explore Johto. There was really nothing here lacking, I still enjoy doing run throughs of this game. This is second place for me.

ORAS! Well, there's really no competition for me because Hoenn is my favorite region by FAR. I love the fact that it's based with so much water... The Pokemon... and I think this remake gave my favorite Pokemon game so much justice. I've not explored the whole game yet, I'm only halfway through, but I'm enjoying it every bit. So I'm ranking this as my favorite.

For now, HGSS. Awesome music, a Gen 4 remake...I love almost everything about it. I haven't gotten ORAS yet, so we'll see.

HGSS. I haven't played ORAS yet so I can't judge on that, whereas FRLG was about as boring as if not more boring than RBY.

I have to say there are a ton of people loving Hoenn. Then again the same thing happened with HG/SS when everyone started to talk about Johto, now no one talks about Johto :c . Do you think we will all start claiming Sinnoh was the best when they eventually announce the Sinnoh remakes?

If people's opinions are that easily swayed by remakes it's kinda sad. Johto always ranked #1 for me whereas I thought Kanto was boring. I wasn't excited for FRLG and playing them only managed to reinforce my opinion that Kanto is a borefest. I like Sinnoh more than Hoenn so once they announce remakes of DPPt I'll be way more excited than I've been for ORAS.

I really enjoyed HGSS. I'm liking ORAS so far, but I'm not sure if I'll end up liking it more than HGSS. It's still too early to tell though, so we'll see!

I don't have ORAS yet, so I can't say anything about it, but imo HGSS and FRLG are really good games. I never liked Red/Blue that much, but I really love the extras in FRLG. In HGSS I love how you can walk with your pokemon, it's so cute haha.
I'd really like to see a remakes of Sinnoh games, that would be pretty cool.

Really tough choice. All of them are great. FR/LG had the Sevii Islands, HG/SS had all these little features that make it such a lovable game, and ORAS brings back so much memories(Hoenn boy here) and adds so much to the gameplay like flying. I also like how they added the Delta Episode that allows us to go to space to catch Deoxys. That is something I believed in as a 9 year old child.

I beat gen one so many times that FireRed was only appealing for the updated graphics and I'm gunna say SoulSilver was the same. ORAS however lemme connect with the characters because they finally weren't just emotionless sprites... Being able to see their mannerisms as they interacted with each other made me fall back into the storyline and I actually felt like I wanted to participate rather than just breeze through. After beating Alpha Sapphire I felt like I actually miss Pokemon instead of the usual habit of just going through the motions. The other remakes didn't quite do that for me. All I did for gen 1&2 was beat them to get to the competitive battling part.

ORAS, from what I have played, is by far the best. Hoenn has always been my favorite region <3 This game just brings back so many good memories and just...ugghh I don't know how to explain it ;w;
