Best Island games for completing fish and bugs

Dragonfly :) 16 medals just catching at Least 10 dragonfly
Or my other good is
Tuna kahuna get at least 8 for 16 medals

your catches at the Island tours don't count toward your encyclopedia, if that's what you mean, Classygirl...

What I mean is there are some games example:the gardening game) where the gyroid will give you a net and fishing rod so any fish or bugs you catch in the game you get to take home in your box and sometimes you can complete missing or hard to find fish this way by taking them out of the game..is this new information..you out it in your box and take it out of the mini game and home to the museum if the gyroid in that game let's you use a net or rod and it is not a fishing or bug catching game...

You can't take a net or rod into the games. The only items you can take back from the games are fruit and flowers, sorry.

No...Ok let me explain as this may help many many people..Example the gardening game flowers in the plot whether you win this or not and maybe even scavenger hunt and other games like gem and fossils you get the tools given to you in the mini game by talking to the gyroid Lloyd standing next to Tortimer. Example..You start the gardening easy game ignore the game talk to the gyroid same as on the island but in the game..this is a fact..he will say hello friend you can borrow and offers you items sometimes only a shovel and ax but in this case also a net and rod and any fish or bugs you catch in the mini game..fact as I just did it to catch a soft shell turtle..you take out and put in the island box win or lose just like sometimes you are left with roses or flowers in your pockets you have the bugs..understand...you can get bugs and fish out of games this way try it next time you get gardening ask the gyroid for a net and rod.

Hope this info helps those who didn't know the mini game gyroid offers tools in non bug or fish catching games like a rod or net... hope you use it like I do.

But isn't it summer in the island too? Like, won't you catch the same things in the tours as you would on the regular island? Oh wait. Actually, I don't think I've ever caught a soft-shelled turtle in the island... But then again it's summer in my town right now, and I'd really just prefer to catch bugs and fish when there isn't a timer involved. It just stresses me out a little haha

Not sure if there are bugs/fish restricted to tours only? I only bring flowers or fruit from the tours if I need them. Most of the bugs I see in tours are ones I've already caught.

oh, i see what you mean. i just cant think of any tour games where the non-game bugs/fish that you can find on the side are rare or anything. ive snagged flowers on the tours and taken them home. but the only things i think i caught and kept there were some basic dragonflies maybe...

Hide & seek tours & the easy balloon tour (don't want pitfalls) are OK/reasonable for bugs. Can get the birdwing, agrias, orchid mantis & banded dragon fly on them but never seen a giant petaltail. (I don't think I have).
Edit: gardening tours as you know

I don't tend to fish on tours (on the no fish tours that is) - but I did see a post where they got a giant snakehead on a unspecified (or I can't remember) tour.

I'd go on a variety of tours and see what Loid will offer tool wise - gives an indication at any rate.

I've found my own island good for a lot of bugs players don't see cos they don't have flowers or a central tree.
Central tree gives you oak silk moth, giant stag, rainbow stag, scarab, lantern. Try 6am to 8am.
Flowers for the butterflies & orchid mantis. I personally do not find having flowers/centre tree a detriment to the palm tree bugs - I still get those spawning really well - guess its partly as I catch everything over 1k & sell everything under 5k to the little girl.

Edit - make a stump on the centre of island - gets you longhorn beetle (annoyingly a lot of them, so once got, dig the stump up). Violin beetle does not spawn on island (well I've not checked Liquefy's faq to be certain, but I've never seen, probably not a summer beetle).

I wanted to comment on this as you are right that there are certain Island bugs that you need to be up after sunup or just before to get and I am not sure a lot of people know that like they do the night time bugs, I didn't and have been playing for years so will check it out early as I am completing my lists on sea creatures, bugs only a few left and fish I have the most there mostly summertime fish and my town is not caught up to IRL time so it is turning fall to winter here..

It is really funny because I was just playing the intermediate hide and seek and wanted to win one gold so didn't get the tools and saw a huge fish in the pond near the center square so ran and got the rod and I caught a Giant Snakehead right after reading your post so that tour maybe the one..if your town is already in summer then you may be completing most thing if you have been playing all year, I am a little behind plus have multi towns but am catching up but would love to have a complete list except art I have a hard time with that in every town especially statues. Anyway thanks to the last two responders I was starting to think no one knew you could do this..Scavenger and Hide and Seek seem the best on fish and bugs so far for me completing and wetsuit is an option also.
