For some reason my ds is saying i'm not online.My daughter is helping me. Please bare with me. I really want him and i have not had this problem before.
Yea, actually, my gates arent open, they wont open because of an error saying unable to connect to the server. I just checked and Nintendo's servers are down: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/network/en_na/network_status.jsp

I ended up sitting right next to my router and flipped my wifi a couple of times.That's how it started to work for me.
