Bell Pincher?

it means you have loads of bells in you pocket and haven't been buying a lot of stuff lately at all! XD

I love it when my villagers call me a bell pincher yet I'm the one spending my time and fortunes cleaning the town and funding all of our public works projects. :p

If I recall it happens when you keep a large sum of bells in your pockets with you. It's a Animal Crossing version of a penny-pincher but probably to a more lighthearted degree. They should stop calling you it if you place a large portion of it into the ABD or spend it on something.

I always thought that it was if you don't buy stuff from villagers, too. I do carry bells on me alot, but I never thought it was THAT much! But lately I don't always buy their stuff, so when Flurry called me a bell pincher yesterday I thought that was why. Huh...so it could mean I have to spend MORE on PWP's. Not like they've given a single bell for the Cafe, even...

Yeah, i always thought that was weird. I mean, how do they know i have lots of money? How unprofessional is the banking system in my town that they are telling people? :)

You have a lot of bells in your pockets. c: If you spend money or put it into the bank I think they stop calling you it :3

I've never been called a "Bell Pincher" just yet. I guess because I tend to buy villager's stuff when they want to sell it? I just have a hard time saying no, plus their prices, even at their WORST, are pretty much nothing compared to what kind of money any mayor has. lol

It's when you don't spend money, particularly in the stores. It's got nothing to do with keeping money in the bank instead of on your person. I never carry more than 99,999, and usually much less, and I have 100M in the bank. I only get the Bell-pincher reputation when I decide I don't feel like buying junk I already have just to avoid the label. By the way, it's called Bell hoarder in other regions, which should tell you it's not just because you're carrying it around and not putting it in the bank. It's a lack of spending, pure and simple, and I suppose all forms of spending count. I was being called a Bell-pincher a lot lately (I've got the gold catalog badge and refuse to buy anything unless it's one of the few items I don't have, or if it's a good gift for a villager) until I started putting in and paying for a few PWPs.

I've been a bell hoarder for the last week yet I've been buying lots of stuff from Nooks to do up a few of the villagers houses, and it ain't been cheap either. But, I never ever buy anything from my villagers, I actually always go around with a pocket full of bamboo so they can't ask me for/give/sell me stuff. I also always carry less then 99,99 bells. I'd love to be something other than a pro listener or a bell hoarder once in a while :P
