So i removed all tiles in my town cause I’m trying to create natural paths. I read a few guides and I’m doing like other people suggest, running on the defined roads multiple times each day, save and quit etc.
I’ve been doing this for about a week, maybe 10 days. Everyday I play. The grass on the defined paths is starting to wear out like it’s supposed to, but very very slow!

I remember I read somewhere that beautiful town ordinance can stop the grass from wearing out like it normally would? But that was only said in one guide, in the other they didn’t even mention that. Is that true? Should I change town ordinance if I want to get natural paths? Thank you

as far as I know, you're fine! the beautiful town ordinance does not help regrow grass, I had it and still had to timetravel to repair my grass haha. good luck with your paths, by the way!

edit: wiki also says it doesnt affect grass ^^

Perfect! Thank you ^___^ I guess I just have to be patient, it’s a long process but I love natural paths so much!

I have the beautiful town ordinance and natural dirt paths. I ended up creating the paths because it was the only way I could control the grass wear.

It does take some time to show up, though. I want to say you should start seeing results in a week or two, but it takes a good month to get them really worn in. Those are estimates, but I think they should be close.

I don't know if it would be faster without the beautiful town ordinance, because that's the only one I've ever had, but it does still work.

I start seeing some additional dirt patches on the chosen paths, only here and there though. It’s very slow but like you said, I probably have to wait around a month to see results! I run on the paths 3 times a day, sometimes 4, save and quit everytime. And I agree with you, I was so sick of the uncontrolled dirt patches that I thought might as well make them part of my planned roads!
By the way, do you have a DA? I’d like to see how your town looks with those natural paths! Even if it’s not complete it’s ok!

My town's not done yet, but the DA is 5A00-00AC-E8E9. Some of my paths are well established and some I'm still working on since I changed the layout.

Just ignore all the patterns on the ground for plot resetting and the jumble of flowers in some areas. :)

It’s really nice! I liked it a lot ^^
Very peaceful and well thought!
Mint is so cute, now I want her in my town haha!

I've been working on natural dirt paths with the Beautiful Town Ordinance for around a month and a half because they regrew after I took a five-year break from New Leaf; today the paths that I've been running on since around Sept 15 have almost finished fully forming. (Yes, I came back to the game because of the AC Switch announcement!)

Unfortunately, I relocated most of my paths a few weeks in. It looks like it'll be another month before all my natural paths are completed, and around two months for the scenic paths that I just began working on yesterday to form.

By the way, I don't think running on the path multiple times per day will increase the rate of decay. That worked in City Folk, but I remember reading that changed in New Leaf and didn't see any results when I tried it a few years ago.

I have dirt paths in Moriyo and the Beautiful Ordinace. I see no effect on grass growth with the Ordinace in place.

Scenic paths? Sounds interesting! I hope to see your town DA once your work is complete!

It would be a relief to know I don’t need to run of those paths multiple times a day xD
It takes a lot of dedication haha! But I was doing it cause I really want these natural dirt paths!

Thank you so much! I've been working really hard on it. Not all of the villagers are permanent yet, but Mint definitely is. She's adorable!

I have the beautiful ordinance and natural paths. It does take a while to get them started, but they will form. Once you get them established, it's a lot easier.

I can see you’ve been working hard on it! Good job! I like that is so full of vegetation and flowers. It gives a very lively feel, and it kinda reminds me of a nature labyrinth, and Destani’s house is so full of details! Keep up the good work!

Yes I can’t wait! Slowly I notice them forming, it’s nice, I can’t wait to see the final result! Some are thin, some wider, probably for the wider ones it will take double the time. But I don’t give up! It’s fun!
