Hey ya'll. I just received the Perfect Town rating not too long ago. I'm wondering, is it worth it to switch to the Beautiful Town Ordinance? What kind of benefits do you get from it?

You'd just generally have an easier time.
Beautiful town: Flowers never die, Weeds rarely show up, no trash in rivers/ocean
But if you enjoy watering your flowers then its not necessary. If your playing regularly, you wont get weeds(maybe 2 at most).
My biggest problem with keeping perfect town is that I leave my stuff on the ground all the time. Don't be like me and use the ground as a second storage.

There is supposedly a better hybrid chance (20% or something), but I honestly have not noticed it. If you are after hybrids, watering is just as good, at least from my observations.
Also, you won't be able to make gold roses because the black roses will never wilt.

The Beautiful Ordinance stopped hybrids from popping up, I switched it to the Night Owl and I got many hybrids now!

Well I have been able to keep hundreds of flowers and don't have to worry about watering them. The bad news: I left turnips on the floor for a week to rot. Come 1 week exactly (when they are supposed to turn), they disappear :(. So I was unable to catch a fly or an ant. If I was going for a gold rose I would have a problem with doing that seeing how my flowers never die. I don't notice anything special about hybrids. I get them, but they are usually the same ones. What I do feel happens (I am not sure if I am crazy) is that hybrid chances increase when you have ordinance AND water them. That is my speculation though.

I seem to have stopped getting Jacobs ladders and Dandelions since I switched to Beautiful Town. :(

ive had the beautiful town ordinance since i started the game and really nothing changed after i got the perfect town rating. jacobs ladders appear as per usual, as do hybrids, dandelions, and the occasional patch of clovers! the only thing thats different is that your villagers will plant+water flowers, weeds will spawn less, and theres no trash in the rivers or oceans.

I get 1-3 hybrids a day on my second town with beautiful ordinance. So there's no problem there. Seems that just the algorithm to the flowers aren't in every single persons favor.

I have Beautiful Town ordinance and I get Dandelions all the time. o3o Don't have Jacob's ladder though since I don't have Perfect Town rating. xD

It can make perfect town easier to continue since you need it for 15 days for the gold watering can. I kept mine as beautiful town for the duration of the 15 days; but I've had the can for a week +, switched to early bird, and still have perfect town because I pick weeds every day.

This has been my experience also.

What I'm curious about is ants and flies. Can I attract (and capture for the museum) any ants and flies with Beautiful Town in effect?

unfortunately, no, im afraid not. if you leave rotten turnips outside for a day theyll only disappear instead of attracting bugs and the like

Rats! I guess I'll keep my Beautiful Town Ordinance until my perfect town status earns me the gold watering can. I'll revoke the ordinance after that to get the bugs I can't get with it. I should have some rotten apples by then.
