Experiment #19876543234567899876
Mysteriously, our failed Inkling/Octoling hybrid appeared at the front door. It was unconscious and clearly struck with a tranquilizer. I can't imagine how anyone would have found our new location or knew it belonged here. It is likely going to be aggressive when it wakes up, so I will lock it in one of the rooms for now.
The subject woke up and appeared to be having a panic attack. I'm surprised it didn't violently bash the door or anything. I opened the door and it quickly backed away into the corner. I guess that's a sign it remembers me. I waited for a while, but it stayed in the corner. I tried speaking and it immediately started begging me to not hurt it. This made me feel so much regret for what I've done. I decided to ask it why it was here, but I didn't get a response. I asked if the subject was still in pain, and it gave me a look that meant yes. I asked if it wanted me to help, and it went back to begging me not to harm it. I asked if it had harmed anyone and it told me it hadn't, though I'm not sure if I should trust it since it was dragged here against its will. I calmly told it that I might be able to help stop its pain, but this only made it panic more. I turned on some music and it calmed down enough that I was able to get ink samples from it. I will be using these to figure out how to stop it from hurting itself.
So far, I haven't figured out anything. The two types of ink repel/attack each other and I cannot get any different results. I'm quite surprised the test subject is still alive with this going on. However, during my studies, the test subject escaped. I'm not sure how, but it silently unlocked the door to its room and then went out the front door. I still haven't figured out how to help it, so I won't worry about this until later.
