Badge Hunting

Is badge hunting a really popular thing? I've been trying to get a lot of badges and I started to wonder if people even cared about that. I think it is a cool thing. What are your opinions on badges and what badges are you most proud of?

I'm pretty proud of my silver HHA badge. I got it after I organized my weapons/ exotic room. I passed 3 HHA checks at once and got it so I was really excited.

I'm trying to get badges now that everything else is basically complete. Personally I like going to Club Tortimer and having others see what I've accomplished in ACNL. It makes me feel proud.

It is a grueling task, though. I really wish there was some sort of Stat page where you could see exactly how close you are to each badge...

I'm a major badge hunter! I enjoy the challenge, it adds another dimension to the game for me and keeps me busy. Some of them get a bit boring - like grinding away catching bugs, but others are fun, like the dreaming and island medal badges. I think my dream badge will be my fave when I get it, as I love seeing new towns in the suite.
I'm working on my dream badge at the mo, I'm at 435/500. Badge-wise, right now I've got: 16 gold badges, 7 silver, and 1 bronze (stupid Streetpass!). After I complete my dream badge, I'll work on the 5000 fish/bugs/diving ones. The balloon one I just work on by popping balloons when I see them, the island medal one - I try to visit the island for games a couple of times a week, and I need a dung beetle to get my gold bug encyclopedia badge.

Yepp, collecting all the badges is definitely a long-term goal I'd someday like to achieve. Currently I'm not trying to get any specific badges and just kind of going with the flow, which still earns me some badges (like for playtime and doing villager requests), but eventually I know I'm going to have to start working hard for some. The gold streetpass badge will probably be the hardest to achieve.

I'm not trying to earn badges at the moment, I'm trying to complete everything else first. I'll probably move on to the badges at some point though, and some of them sound quite tedious to earn, like the dream badge.

Badger hunting might be a fun addition to the game. Just as long as we don't hurt the badgers.

Ah, I love collecting them! But I don't really think you need to go after them, all of mine came quite naturally with the exception of the HHA one (had to change one of my rooms)

But I'll need help with the weeding one, as most people haha

Besides that, I think they all come naturally from enjoying all the aspects of the game! (and isn't that what they are all about? Phineas said so!)

If you sit under your town tree, at the very end of all the text it will tell you the total amount of visitors to your town.

When someone visits your dream, if they go inside your train station, the porter will tell you how often characters from your town have taken trips

Currently aiming for the fish and bug encyclopedia badges as well as the catalogue maniac badges. But I didn't realise that you got badges for the encyclopedia completion when I started working on them, I just like 100% completions and ticking things off a list.

They are good badges to work on as you are doing all sorts of work towards other badges as well. I've caught a hell of a lot of fish trying to get my encyclopedia complete and I'm catching a hell of a lot of beetles to fund my encyclopedia completion (Damn you, Gracie...) I managed to get the Master Shopper badge without even actively trying, and soon I'll be getting a lot of island medals trying to buy island exclusive stuff for my catalogue. I keep going to KK Slider to get unowned music.

Of course, there are some badges I am actively ignoring such as the diving badge because I hate the diving mini-game and the HHA (although I somehow managed to get Bronze while using my house as a dumping ground). I totally plan to get them at some point, but that's a very long term goal. Being a catalogue maniac and landscaping my town are going to keep me very occupied for at least a year, I'm sure.

Yeah I like getting badges but unfortunately the only badges that I have are the Seafood Maniac and a few others that I don't remember.
