Imbri
Resident Night Mare
First thing yesterday morning, Lolly stopped by. That's the first unscheduled visit I've had in Hollowyn. Must mean she and I are pretty close.
It rained something fierce in Hollowyn yesterday. Most of the time it's just a gentle thing, but yesterday afternoon there was a real downpour with thunder and lightning. Most of the villagers had the good sense to stay indoors, although a few seem to lack that particular concept (looking at you, Shari and Eugene). I decided to wait out some of the storm at The Roost. Phineas was there enjoying a cup, and we chatted for a few minutes before I left him to his coffee and took a seat at the table. I'd already had my cup for the day (really, Brewster? How do you know how much coffee I can handle?) and worked behind the counter, so it was just to enjoy the quiet.
Before I stopped at The Roost, I snapped a couple pics of houses.
Here's Emerald's:

Don't mind that you can't see the door or much of the exterior; both are the defaults. I like the ranch roof and the hedge. I also love my flowers. I still need a couple more pink tulips and purple roses, but it should look nice when I get the cabin exterior and arched cabin door.
And this is Sapphire's house:

I think that might be done. I really can't wait until I start expanding it so you can see more of the melon exterior. But I think the arched beige door and orange thatch roof work with it. Again, don't mind the flowers. I'll probably end up with orange lilies and white roses, but I only have one lily so far. Just to the left, out of screen, are several perfect cherry trees I planted. I think they'll blend nicely. Right behind her house is the river, and it loops around on the right. I'd originally planned to do a park in front of her house, but Rizzo plopped down there (Emerald is right in front of Rizzo). Oh, well.
Oh, and don't you love the outfit? I don't know if it would pass Gracie's check, but I think it's quite cute.
You can see where the grass is really wearing down, so I might use one of the paths I have Flint and Jett holding. Both are single-tile dirt paths with grass borders. At least they'd give me a guide on where to walk until I can plant bushes and more trees to keep paths from broadening too much.
Oh, that reminds me, I wanted to show that cool design I found to use for my flag:

Normally, I'd have taken it at Town Hall, but with the rain, I thought this would be a clearer shot. Isn't it pretty? I'm so happy I tripped across it.
I think I'm going to build the right-side room before I finish all the expansions for the left side. I just hate looking at a lopsided house. And fortunately, the rain held up long enough for me to catch a few coelocanth to sell to Reese. That, plus a quick trip to the island, let me put down a fair chunk on the lighthouse.
