Do you 'breed' Pokemon, and search for 'shinies'?

Yes, I usually breed Pok?mon if I need an evolution of the Pok?mon or if I want to trade one. I sometimes search for shines but I haven't had any luck yet... I tried to catch a shiny Ditto and Eevee using the Pok?radar method but I kept breaking the chain xP
