The word "manga" applies to all Japanese cartoons, be it animated or not. The word "anime" isn't even a Japanese word, it's American. In Japan, it's all called "manga".

Correct. Since it's become a standard term in the English language (though an incorrect one), Wikipedia uses it.

For shame; I didn't know.

It should be pronounced "ah-nee-may", but it's an Americanized word to begin with, which is why so many people don't pronounce it how it would be in Japanese. (And because the people who pronounce it "an-ih-may" probably don't know anything about Japanese pronunciation, lol.)
