Mine feels so far relaxing since I just open 2 new shops in Main Street. I feel a lot more happy progressing in this game then when it came to dealing with new horizons. Glad I picked up the game digitally
I'm happy to hear you're enjoying New Leaf! I agree it's a lot more relaxing. I also loved the feeling when you open new shops, it really feels like you're an important mayor building up your small town. There's some really unique & memorable ways to unlock them. Some might take a while, but that just makes it feel extra special when they finally open!! Oh and the town tree... hands down the BEST addition in any AC game. It makes my heart feel warm seeing it grow :'D
In New Horizons everything requires crafting which isn't as fun to me. And the shops on Harvey's Island are unlocked by paying bells, which is boring. I think the ONLY memorable part was getting K.K. to come to your island, but after that there's nothing else to build. I suppose it's nice for players who just want the freedom to decorate... but it lacks that rewarding experience. I also think it's weird there's no way to see your town history like you could in NL. It makes me feel like my work as resident representative is less important lol
I am so happy you love New Leaf! Its so my favorite. I remember getting ACNL when I was little and I still play after sooooooo many years! I never knew how to please Gracie which is why I finally got her store last year! New Leaf is just such a fun game and it takes so much time to progress and unlock things like T&T Emporium or Katrina's permanent shop. I love how exciting it is when you get a new upgrade or when the OST changes and its just PERFECT! Its so rewarding and fun! Especially when you pay off things like the Dream Suite or the Museum 2nd floor! I love New Leaf!!!!
I played on release day so I forget what my feelings were after progressing. I think this was the first game, though, that I really took seriously. I didn’t have WiFi for most of the time, but I still enjoyed the game. I think that it’s possible to enjoy without it in New Leaf. It seems that it’s required to even enjoy New Horizons. It sucks because not everyone has access to or the means to get WiFi…
Edit: I know! I never had anyone to play with since last year so I played New Leaf for YEARS without anyone and it was so fun. I remember how insanely excited I got when I found the other fruits since you could get them normally. If you dont have online New Horizons only lets you get your main fruit. sister fruit, and coconuts..... Not fair at all...

Nintendo really got money hungry with New Horizons.
