So Gwen asked me to catch her an Arowana but when I looked it up it said they arent available til June and its May 31st... What should I do???

I advise you go up to her and smack her on the head. Then, tell her that they aren't available at this time of year.

Tell her to check the calender next time.

Kinda reminds me of the time Flora once asked me to catch a snail even though there was no rain on that day, so I refused her request.

They must have arrived a day early. Marina asked for a Goliath beetle. Either that, or the game can't distinguish between pre- and post-midnight for bug/fish availability.

I figured that must be it since one AC day starts at 6 a.m., and so monthly changes at 12 a.m. end up getting lumped into that day, although it's a little wonky even considering that.

Today, Benedict asked me get him a Cicada. Regular Cicadas on trees don't even appear until July. However, the Lantern Fly counts as a Cicada (don't ask me why), and the Lantern Fly starts showing up in June. However, Benedict is a Lazy Villager and would have went to sleep at 11 before the Lantern Fly would even have a chance of appearing (island doesn't count since they don't ask for bugs/fish that are only available on the island at a given time).

I've been asked for unobtainable things before. On a sunny day (the day before had been sunny too) I was asked for a snail, I was asked for a pond skater bug but when I looked all over town at different hours those were nowhere to be seen, and I've been asked for non-native fruits I hadn't grown yet (they were still just saplings). Not even in a "if you go to your friends' towns and they have this fruit could you bring me one" but that villager actually said they'd seen some growing on a tree earlier. Which was, of course, a lie.
