I was wondering if any one has specific flower colors for their island like all white or red and yellow, etc. Are your island flower colors random?
I’m thinking I might change my flower colors with every season but have 1 section with a field of all the flower colors in a rainbow.
Yup! I definitely have a color pallet I chose for my island. I strictly stick to yellow, white, orange, and purple. I have red flowers in only a couple sections. Since I stay in autumn, I wanted to make sure I had colors that complemented the red trees and pops of red from the holly bushes. C:
purple is my favorite color, so ive always planned for my islands (and towns in previous games) to have mostly purple flowers. but recently ive been thinking that would be a bit rude to my villagers who may think that purple is the grossest color (even tho theyre wrong). so ive decided to be a bit more open-minded and for my next island, i plan on mostly making my island feature white flowers except for a rainbow flower garden (i want to breed every flower in the game and put it there), my villagers' yards, and the area around my house. i may still end up going to purple tho bc man,,, i rly do love purple.
On my last island, I had far too many flowers. Anything that could grow pink, white, and orange - I had it. They were very pretty, but it wasn't super easy to balance. This time, I'm keeping it very very simple and only keeping black flowers. I think the black flowers are elegant and by themselves look nice, and it keeps things easy for me.
Well, yes, kind of. I have flowers of specific colors in specific places, but I try and have at least one of each flower color on the island. My "theme" is sort of a retro AC theme (meaning I try and keep the same vibe my towns in old games have had) and I always had a wide variety of flowers whenever possible. So I'm sticking to that. But flowers are placed in areas where they look best- like I have red and white roses outside the Able Sister's shop, red/white/yellow pansies/cosmos outside my orchard, hyacinth along my main street, etc. Yesterday I got some blue roses which look PERFECT outside of Julia's house ☺
One of my first goals in ACNH was to get every flower type and color variation so now my town has each sectioned off in random places..
It's kind of a hassle though because I want to keep the variety as a collector- and there's no way of putting flowers in storage!!
Otherwise, I would love to have it themed with white+yellow+orange+green flowers to make it feel more in the wilderness and lush.
i also chose a specific colour palette kinda. At first i went with only pink and white but it honestly looked so monotonous. Now i use pink, white, blue, purple and i plan to include some black roses too
I did not use any flowers labelled red but some of the orange hybrids have reddish accents so I can't say my island has a perfect colour palette. I tried to use lots of blue & black flowers overall and then in the back left corner around the campsite I put my orange hybrids together to keep a balance.
I have all the colors since my island has been taken over by flowers. I wish I was creative enough to organize them and make a color palette, but I've kinda give up and just let them grow wild.
I have different colour palettes for different areas of my island. Near the airport I have yellow and white flowers only, although I might add green mums if I can manage to grow some of those. Near the tropical themed areas I have bright coloured flowers, pink, orange and yellow mostly. And near my player house, purples and blues.
I have smaller areas that deviate from this though. Like a red and white rose garden area and black flowers for my cemetery.
Pink and white are the main colors I use. I try to use other colors to match the exteriors of villager houses and shops but pink and white are def my go to.
For my creepy area, I am using mostly white and black lilies, a few black cosmos, orange and yellow lilies. I based the area on several screenshots of this area called the Crossroads in Dragon Age Inquisition. In one of the pictures, I saw there were some orange and white flowers along with weeds (am also using weeds). I am using black flowers to help illustrate how some of the mirrors were corrupted/tainted. I think in some cultures, white symbolize death, so I chose white lilies along with the paper kite butterfly.
Not sure what I want to do with the rest of my flowers. My island is a mess right now and WIP.

Oh there were also some yellow flowers. Lilies looked the closest to what the flowers looked like in the screenshots.
I have all the flowers on my island, and my gardens/flower beds are split by species so I have a mums garden in my town, a windflower meadow in the middle of the map, etc. But I like the idea of having gardens based on color so I've started doing that with my villagers' front yards since they were empty anyway. So far I have orange/red flowers for Deirdre (she has an autumn themed house), white/pink for diana (her fur colors), etc. But I don't think the completionist in me could stand having only flowers of certain colors or species on my island
I don't use primary colors and had planned to use pink, purple, and black flowers as in my NL town, but the black roses, lilies and cosmos don't look as nice as they did in NL, so I've stuck with mainly pink, purple and a few orange hyacinths, purple pansies, pink mums, pink roses and green mums.
Most of my flowers are specifically not pink, but I mostly just try to fit the flower colours to the areas they are in. I'm pretty sure I have every colour on my island somewhere, except for gold roses which will probably never look good in my areas.
I usually match my flower combos to villagers houses or what I think they’d like, and change it slightly to match the seasons. I have a specific colour scheme for both my new leaf towns though! But that’s mainly because I only stay in a specific season in New Leaf, whereas in NH I play every season. It’s likely I’ll tweak my flowers a bit as a seasons change. I currently HATE the way some flowers look with this shade of autumn but I’m just patiently waiting for red trees to do any big changes
