Are your dream villagers for New Horizons the same as New Leaf?

I had to make a list for which villagers I want to keep in my Island because there's just way too many tempting ones to pick from. Some of my dreamies are the same as with New Leaf, but I decided I wanted to try out new vilagers for New Horizons to keep things fresh.

My old list was:

There's a lot of villagers I never thought I'd like, but I do after moving them in. :3

Is your dreamie list still the same as NL or has it changed?

I think it's nice to have a change! It's really fun when villagers catch you by surprise and you end up loving them. It happened to me with Klaus and Flip. Mine is mostly the same though.

Sherb demoted Beau quick and Frita was in my old NL town but I never really got attached to her since I stopped playing when she arrived in my town so having her be one of my starting villagers was a pleasant surprise! Now I love her Ketchup was always a villager I wish we could have so when she was added back I just Knew I would need to have her on my island. Her and Felicity are besties, it's really cute.
I can see my list changing though! I love Tia but I may let her go if she asks so I can always have one new villager come and go. (Plus I have her amiibo so if I miss her I can always get her back) And I am SO iffy with Bam! I really loved him at first but I miss Flip a lot... so I may get him back but I also love Bill and want him in my town too even though I already have 2 ducks. Watch me end up kicking out Bam and Tia for Flip and Bill haha.

For the most part, I have quite a few loved ones from new leaf.
O'Hare ofc, Marshal, Snake, Tom, gonna try to get Static back, and Lolly

I have new ones too, Punchy, Kiki, Genji, Sherb, Raymond

I may replace Kiki or Lolly for Static tho

Julian surprisingly is the only villager I'm bringing over to NH!
I think that's mainly due to the new villagers, and me wanting 10 different species.
For example, Audie replaced Whitney as my wolf, therefore I chose my next favorite snooty Diana!
also random villagers grew on me over time such as Cherry and Marina :0

The only dreamie I had in NL was Peanut and she’s on my list in NH. I got her a few days ago. She’ll always be on my list.

I feel like my tastes have changed a lot. back in NL my dreamies were Apollo, Dotty, Goose and Yuka, since they were my childhood faves from WW. I'm still kinda hoping I get Apollo at some point but I got a lot of new dreamies with NH: Genji, Raymond, Audie... I've become so basic LOL

In NL I I think the only dreamy I really had was Diana, and I did eventually get her, but I also remember not wanting any of the jocks, lol.

With that being said, some of my NL villagers that I had are my dreamies for NH:

Also, I now have 2 jocks, haha, Dom and Hamlet c:
The only other dreamy I have is Raymond, but I definitely am not buying him from someone, lol so we shall see if I get him

not really. my dream villagers were always changing in new leaf but i think the only two that are the same are lolly, skye, sprinkle and diana ;u; my other dreamies in new horizons are gayle, audie, fuchsia, kid cat, zucker and dobie, who are all new for me aha

Seriously though, in NL my goal was to have an all-cat town. In NH, I'm purposefully trying out other villagers and have been finding new dreamies as a result.

Sort of. In New Leaf, my only dream villagers were Kiki and Ribbot, my favorites from old games. I met the others organically. Merengue was a starting villager. Skye, Blanche, and Kyle were random move-ins. I picked up Stitches from the void. I adopted Octavian from a friend. Diana and Flora were campers. I just got to the point where I didn't want to let any of them move out because I loved them all so much.

For New Horizons, I wanted Kiki and Ribbot again as they're my favorites, and I also want Diana (have her Amiibo). I have Octavian and Skye on my island right now, but I'm letting Skye go once I get her picture and I'm not sure about Octavian yet. Finally, I wanted Sylvana after her reintroduction in Welcome Amiibo. I just love her design. Otherwise, I plan to meet them organically again. I have already decided to keep Bianca who was a random move-in.

NL was the first AC game I played heavily so I wasn't familiar with any villagers and had no dreamies before that, but I grew very attached to my villagers from there that I was set on keeping that most ended up as my dreamies for NH

In ACNL I had:
Skye, Merengue, Julian, Stitches, Kid Cat, Agent S, Bones, Whitney, Tom, Mira

The ones I went out of my way to get were Julian, Stitches, Kid Cat, Agent S, and Whitney (campsite reset trick for 10th villager), so I'd consider them dreamies. The others were random move-ins that grew on me and became part of my permanent town.

In ACNH, I don't really have dreamies. I moved Stitches and Kid Cat in, but gave Stitches to my friend (although I was sad about it still!) and am thinking about gifting Kid Cat to my other friend. The fact that villagers can't move into random places now makes changing villagers a lot easier (no making a new character and resetting...). I do think the random islanders/campsiters I've found have REALLY grown on me, though, and have become unexpected permanent mainstays (Simon, Dobie, etc)!

However, I have more than 10 Dream villagers, so my village can be pretty different even if I have all Dreamies in both games.

I’m so surprised that this is common! I actively avoid repeating villagers because there are so many delightful ones I’ve never experienced.

My final NL villagers were:
Walt, Willow, Snake, Lionel, Benjamin, Antonio, Bluebear, Lolly, Deli, and Vesta.

I adore all of them still, but in my heart they feel like Feldspar’s villagers, you know? It feels odd to just recreate that town again. I guess a part of me feels like that town is still going on without me. The only exception is Antonio, who I also had in Wild World. I wasn’t sure if I would try to get him again but he was randomly my jock so it will be very hard for me to let him move!

I haven’t quite narrowed it to 10, but my current NH “dreamies” are as follows:

Antonio, Sydney, Bones OR Daisy, Cesar, Broccolo OR Rod, Bubbles OR Annabelle, Drago OR Alli, Peaches OR Annalise, Shari, Curlos OR Cashmere, Leonardo, and Wade. We will see how many of my villagers I can relinquish, though! I currently adore Antonio, Sydney, Bubbles, Huck, and Benedict.

I barely remember my NL villagers but i do know i had a lot of cats, and Punchy, Bob, Mitzi, Mott, Scoot, and Kabuki were in my town for a very long time, I have Punchy, Scoot and Bob on my island rn and they're currently the only NL guys i plan to have since i want some new friends this time around

Genji will always be the baddest but I definitely want a couple of the new villagers in NH; I already have Sherb and Raymond would be icing on the cake. Other than that I would love to have all my faves like Coco, Static, Stinky (awful taste I'm aware) etc.

My dreamie list is the same as New Leaf yes, only the fact that Filbert and Boris left in favor of Raymond and Cashmere.

Filbert was the one I was okay to let go, and Boris however... I just don't like many cranky villagers and I chose Cashmere because I grew to like her a lot after I found out that she was a returning villager in the welcome amiibo update praying that she wasn't one of the villagers to come back. When I found out she did, I thought of bringing her in my New Leaf town as a "if you can't beat em', join em'" kind of thing, and I never thought I'd like something so ugly.

My “core five” have been Rocco, Savannah, Camofrog, Rod, and Ankha. In NL, I added auxiliary members to the group in Flora, Julian, and Phoebe. This time, I’m sticking with a core THREE (Rocco, Savannah, Camofrog) and rotating out the rest. I like the “not really this species” animals. So I’ll be rotating out Coco, Hans, Drago, Anabelle, Julia, Tucker, etc as well as the three from NL, and also ones that come as a set such as mechanicals Ribbot, Del, and Sprocket or Chrissy and Francine.

Oh and Rod and Ankha might return too, but in the meantime they’ll each get a “shrine” room.... if only there were more pirate themed or Egyptian themed items!

Nope! This time around I'm trying to go with the flow and just pick random villagers I like while island hopping, instead of spending so much time agonizing over making and finding a set list of dreamies. It's been pretty fun so far!! I found a couple old faves from earlier ACs (Zucker from NL and Lobo from ACGC) and have made some new faves in the process (Bianca and Ursula!). It feels nice to let my islanders rotate, too--it keeps the game from feeling stale!
