Still hunting for my dream map (I've officially found it 8 times) and I'm still being insanely picky.

I guess I score my town if that makes sense? Like if it has the blue/red train station it gets a +, but if it's green it's a - because I'm not too much a fan of it. If there's that ugly yellow town hall it's another -, and if there are pears or cherries I just reset.

Were you just as picky or am I crazy?

I honestly just care about the map layout. I can change other things later, and I dont really mind the other fruits except MAYBE peaches id care about, but if it was the perfect map I wouldnt reset. id only reset if I was on the wall about the town.

I wasn't very picky personally lol I never reset my map, just took what I got haha
(do you not plan to remodel your train station....? I mean if you do, the colour won't matter anyways...? )

>u> I mean, if I'm stuck with the colors before I can remodel, I'd at least like for them to be nice.

when I started new leaf, I was too excited to fuss over the details so I was winging it haha
it didn't even occur to me to reset to get new fruits or anything like that

I have 2 towns. I only reset once because my second town had the same native fruit as the first one.
So my requirements for staying with a town/map was:
different native fruits
no private beach
lower waterfall facing south
Re-tail somewhat halfway between train station & dock

@milktea: lol same I was just so happy to finally have new leaf esp since I bought it quite... late I guess ; u ;

When I got New Leaf I didn't even know about all the different train station colors, river shapes, etc. so I wasn't picky.

I just chose my town layout and worked with it; I don't think I reset for new maps... Maybe I did once

I wanted a private beach, but I didn't find one (was kinda disappointed). But I made the town my home and I'm keeping it xD

When I started playing I only knew about resetting to change your town fruit.I didn't think oranges were too bad so I just went with it.I didn't know about there being things like different maps,numbers of rocks and train station colors.If it was made clear in the game or if I had heard somewhere else before that those things were possible I probably would have reset though.

I map reset at the beginning a few times, looking at each town and trying to decide where I'd put my main buildings: My house, the cafe, police station, and campsite. When I found a map I liked, I kept it. I had peaches, which was great, but no big deal if I didn't. (Though I'd really want them now.) I didn't know the train station or town hall had colors that could change. To be honest, I don't even know what colors I have.

but you can change how your town hall and train station look later?.!

and you can always cut down all your trees and plant other ones.

I would be picky probably about my town layout the most. And then I'd want to have maybe one or two dream villagers if possible.

Only thing I was picky about was river layout and native fruit. My building and rock layouts are not ideal, but I make do.

I recently bought a second copy. I'm not worried about what map it is as I am with where the town hall, Re-Tail, plaza, and ponds are at. With my first copy, there was a specific map I was after, and all the other stuff that bother me bothered me then. The train station roof color was also a bother. I wanted blue, but green would be permissible. And I wanted either peaches, apples, or pears as the native fruit.

Nope. I didn't even plot reset my villager homes, so all of my PWP are mostly exiled to one portion of the town lol

What's disappointing is that I finally started to notice and care about my map after I got 9 of my dreamies, so I have to learn to accept my town. I have the ugly yellow town hall, but I just look forward to when I can remodel it.

My dream town would be apples or cherries. I don't like peaches but I can sort of deal with oranges and pears. Train station and town hall colours matter to me as well - are the main reasons I reset. Villagers matter to me too - but just as much as placement ;w;

Me too. I just looked through the map options I had and just went with my favorite.

I had been resetting off and on since I got the game (June 9, 2013) until April 12, 2014. This is the only town I found that I've kept for this long & I think I finally like my map.
