Are you an avid letter writer?

I absolutely am - I send all of my villagers mail with fruit attached daily, I've found it to be the most effective way of raising friendship outside of running their errands/fulfilling their requests.

Because I write so frequently, generally my villagers are running around with letters containing my random thoughts - the last letter I send Merengue was "man, Jim Gaffigan is actually hilarious" and I'm sure one of them is running around with a letter that's simply me venting about what a bad person Walter White is.

Not the most friendly and light hearted of mayoral exchanges I do admit...
Hiw often do you write your villagers letters? What do you write about? Anything that would be embarrassing if, say, someone you knew in real life were to read it?

Hahaha, I've done that. I sent some particularly mean ones to Elmer regarding a glue factory when I really wanted him to move... I also changed his greeting and catchphrase to "void me" but that's what you get when you randomly move in as a 10th villager onto a bed of hybrids I guess.

I don't usually send letters unless I want them to change their clothes using the five shirts method.

I try to send my villagers letter every other day in hopes of getting foreign fruit or their pictures in return. My letters aren't always nice and it always makes me LOL whenever a villager pulls out a letter their fond of only to realize it says something along the lines of "I hate you" or "You're ugly".

Yea, I often send letters to my villagers. Sometimes to change their shirt or their furniture, sometimes just for fun. Although I already got a gold medal for sending letters, I still write to my villagers often xD

I was on my old town. My current focus is getting my basic PWPs down and still having enough bells to upgrade my second character's house, so I've been slacking on sending letters lately.

I wish I was, but I'm too lazy I always feel guilty when my normal villagers ask for me to be their pen pal and I never write back... The only times I wrote a ton of letters was when I was trying to "befriend" Alli in order to kick her out. Also when my villagers keep forcing me to take their cool furniture (your house is awesome, stop messing it up! DX), I send their furniture back with a letter scolding their actions...

When I first started and the town was new and I wanted to greet all my villagers, I would write letters. Then occasionally I would write asking about their day or something. Once in awhile if i found something that they might like, I'd mail it to them wrapped up :3 but then I got lazy haha and eventually just stopped. I have no plans to write any letters in the near future, still focusing on getting my town up to date.

In my previous town, I used to write letters daily and they would be about real life stuff that I was going through. It made me feel like the residents became real friends over time. On occasion, there would be a response from them which seemed to fit what I sent them so that made me feel really warm.

But after I got rid of my XL and started playing on the regular 3DS the smaller screen made it harder to "write" on so I only send new residents a welcome letter now. I do get letters from some of them regularly though so that's still enjoyable.

I used to send all my villagers letters every day, but since I started keeping stuff in my letters I've kinda stopped. I'm trying to get more letter writing badges though, so I will try to start writing to them again.

ACNL is the first game I've played in the series so I thought I was supposed to send letters to villagers regularly. Once I learned it wasn't a must, now I only send letters for furniture or clothing changes to specific villagers.

I have all three letter writer badges. I write letters every day!

It is hard to know what to say though. I usually either ask if any events are coming up (yes, I know they won't respond), say something like "Wow! It's almost fall!" or tell them what a great friend they are. XD

I constantly mail my villagers stuff they put up in retail with the message, "Well, here you go." (because there's never an inappropriate time for Spongebob references)
