When I say collector, I men do you accumulate trophies/achievements of the games you play?
I'm not an avid collector but I enjoy getting trophies all the same. So far I've platinumed only two games, but I'm getting more into trophy collection.
I sadly ruined achievement/trophy hunting for myself years ago. I was an idiot and modded my gamerscore on my Xbox Live account. While I didn't get caught and reset for it, I wish I would have. It doesn't feel good to earn achievements anymore because now they're mixed in with a bunch of modded ones.
i am on pokemon, i cant stop playing the game unless i complete the dex, ive done it twice and i want to do it again with the new one thats coming out!
Yeah, I try to get as much 'dex crap as possible in Pok?mon and I def. like trying for achievements in general, it gives you that odd feeling of being satisfied cat.
I never really tried to get all the trophies on a game before now, but I'm trying to at the moment with Ratchet & Clank. It's fun, but I think that's mainly because I enjoy the game so much - I can imagine it to be boring with a game you're not really interested in anymore. I think it could take the fun away from the game having to stop and check each trophy to see if you're missing anything as well, but that's just my opinion.
Also some trophies are really annoying to get, like there is this one on R&C were you've got to use a certain weapon against every enemy in the game and it just seems kind of pointless to me...
I'll kind of go out of my way to get trophies/achievements that don't sound to difficult or tedious to get, but if something sounds like it won't be fun, I'll leave it. Even if I'm missing one trophy, I'll just leave it if it's not going to be enjoyable to actually get. Like any of those "collect a stupid amount of random useless friggin' collectibles" or "do this incredibly long winded series of tasks in a specific way" I'll usually leave, because a majority of the time I probably won't be enjoying myself actually getting them.
I've only gotten 3 platinum's (Lollipop Chainsaw, Gravity Rush HD, Senran Kagura: Estival Versus) and that was because I was both still enjoying the games and the trophies were essentially just 'finish the story and do the side quests, maybe finish it on hard mode'.
I'm 1 trophy away from a plat in Jak and Daxter because I can't be bothered collecting all the precursor stones (the 'eggs', not the orbs). I'm 2/3 trophies away in Jak II and Jak II because I can't be bothered looking for the orbs. I refuse to do any of them because hunting down hundreds of useless objects that have almost no bearing on the game aside from some redundant 'cheats' and a trophy isn't the slightest bit enjoyable to me.
It depends on the game for me, I also cared more about my Xbox achievements than my PS or Nintendo ones tbh although that is starting to change. I've 100% a few games on Xbox and Nintendo consoles and one on PS. I don't pay much attention to PC achievements.
