Are there any tricks to spawn rock somewhere?

unfortunately one of my main paths are dirt paths so it still spawn on the way and places i won't want them do.

are there any tricks? what do you do? there's this 1 rock that always spawn in the middle, when there's plenty of spaces it could go.

as i suspected, it'll be like the new leaf villager house placement trick. thanks though. might reconsider changing the paths but idk. i'll give it a few days, hoping it'll spawn somewhere i like. if not, i'll resort to this.
