Hey I was curious to know if Money Trees were still possible in New Leaf. I remember having money trees in city folk and know about the percentage chance to get them but I never tried it in New leaf....has anyone in this game tried it before?

yeah you need to plant a money bag with a golden shovel and the amount you put in will result in the percentage chance of the tree growing 90k bells, so if you put in 10k bells it will only have 10% chance but if you put in 90k bells it will have 90% chance of growing

I just plant 90k so when I get tired of it, I get back the exact amount I put into it c:

It depends how much you plant.
Maximum is 30k and the process is a gamble.
With the probability of getting more than you planted so low, it's not a good source of bells; you tend to lose more money than you make.
With that said, they look great
Yeh. Also, they take 3-4 days to bloom and only one can bloom per day >.<

Well, as long as I can still use them to turn them into normal trees turning pink during spring, that's worth more to me than every income, haha.

This is really good to know for any kind of landscaping. Is there a minimum amount of bells I need to bury to get a tree? I think someone said 1k, but I'm not sure anymore because I have a swiss cheese brain and since I plan on growing many trees, I would be happier with only using 100 bells, haha.VioletPrincess

I found in City Folk that if you plant multiples at once the chance of getting a bell tree on every one is less and less. I only planted 1 at a time. Better to be safe than sorry. I just planted 1 tonight. I have grown one in my game before.

Yeh it's 1000bells minimum >.< it has to be a bag not a coin.
But that's better than wasting storage on saplings xD
I have spare golden tools if youre looking for some.
Well, 1k isn't that difficult to earn. XD; I make around 1 mil a day with the beetles, so I can most certainly afford that, haha. And oooh, golden tools! I have just gotten the third store, so it will be around three weeks until the next shop upgrade and then I need to buy all the fertilizer, so that would take a long time. So I would definitely be interested in some golden tools!
I have only some of the silver ones so far, but then again, my town is only three weeks old.
