Are amiibo cards region-specific?

Sorry if this is a silly question but can you use NA cards if you have an EU system or are the cards region-specific? I was going to order some through Amazon and decided to clarify first.

amiibo cards are not region locked, so you can use any version card with any version game. : )

That goes for all Amiibo. All Amiibo are not region locked.
