Anyone here regret not being picky enough when it come to choosing their villagers on mystery islands?

Like I don't have any ugly villagers (not counting force campsite) but I only have 1 dreamy and she who I spend 60% of the time with. The other villagers are just there but they don't mean anything to me. I have Celica the Eagle for example and she good looking (all Eagles are IMO) but talking to her makes me want to fall asleep.

They made a lot of villagers look so good in this game that it hard to say no even if they are not your dreamy or were never on your radar.

Anyone regret not being more picky enough? If so who did you regret choosing instead of waiting it out?

I played the previous AC games so I started this game being 100% sure which villagers I want in my town (I even have their amiibos).

So I thought. In the end I fell in love with completely new villagers I never considered before, all of them look so fantastic in this game, it’s really hard to stick to the plan. :) I am happy I was not that picky in the end, got to know some new friends/future favorites.

Nope. Nothing to regret for me since I had no idea you can even invite from the islands for your 3rd-5th villager. I didn’t mind the random move ins as well as I knew I wanted to get Rosie and Marshal through amiibo.

I kind of regret not being picky enough about my initial island layout tbh. Villagers come and go but the island layout is forever. Terraforming can only do too much.

Do villagers randomly leave even if you treat them great everyday like giving them gifts and etc? Like do they just one day decided that they miss their home and decided to go home? Like months down the line from now?

Not sure... The game's only been out for a couple weeks so I can't really speak for the "months down the line" question since I don't TT.

They won't randomly leave, but I think all villagers have the same chance of wanting to leave. From what I heard they don't leave until they ask you about it and you tell them to go.

I agree. When the game launched I played all the way through and realized a few weeks in I wasn’t happy with my map, villagers, fruit, resident services color, airport color (the little things) little things like that. I then reset my town a few days ago, and got everything I wanted! I don’t regret it. I’ve been taking it slow, taking my time, planning out everything, and being picky. And it’s been so much better

nah im fine with who i picked, i like having lots of people in my village so its good i can cycle out some people who are nice but not going to be missed, this wya i get to experience a bunch of new villagers and make new faves.

I invited Rex, Dora and Audie for my first 3. I’ve never had them before and I don’t regret it yet.

I had Leopald ask to leave today, I’d talked to him every day. He wasn’t my favorite, so I let him go, but I didn’t treat him any differently than my other villagers. (Lets ignore the fact that I subsequently invited Lionel from an island. So I basically got an older version of Leopald).

Nope, enjoying different villagers is always a plus to me even if they aren't my favorites.

You are not settled for your perfect villagers you will definitely keep forever now? Great, since this will allow for a more dynamic way to experience the game, with folks moving out, newcomers you have never had the pleasure of meeting coming in and new friendships may be forged down this way of playing through the game!

Remember, NH will be the main Animal Crossing universe for, at least, the next five years.

I thought I would but not in hindsight. There were a number of villagers that I would not have wanted on my island but having interacted with them, quickly grown to appreciate them.

The game instills some admirable qualities, such as not judging someone by their appearance, and greed is not good, where Wisp gives you a terrible item for asking to be rewarded with something expensive. It's very wholesome.

Maybe? Not sure. There are still some villagers I wish I had and maybe I could've hunted for but I also love my current town population and I just wish I could have more than 10. The ones I did regret bringing from the islands have already left town though. Thanks to amiibo... Although I'm starting to have second thoughts about a certain bear. I like her but she probably my least fave on my island right now so...

I don't regret my villagers choices in hindsight. For the most part, I ended up with villagers I've never had before, and in my experience I usually end up liking most villagers anyway. I'm pretty happy with the villagers I have at the moment :)

Interesting what color was the thought bubble on top of their head when they were wanting to move out? Is it white or purple, do you remember?

Actually when I ask for new things, Wisp still give me awful stuff like a stack of paper or an artist set. I only encounter him twice (since I don't play late) and that what I gotten from him so far.

Good to know, I'm dying to get rid of my force campsite villager.

@thelonewanderer I've had the move out thought bubble with Poppy before. It looks the same as a regular thought bubble like when they want to give you a gift or nickname you.
