Anyone playing BOTH ACNL and Tomodachi Life? (I need advice...)

I've always TT'ed by changing the system clock. Is there any difference/risks involved with TT'ing with Isabelle? I'm kind of nervous about it, since I already have 4 characters, and can't make a new save file to check things out...

I posted this about a week ago, so I'll just copy/paste it since it's basically the same answer:

Generally speaking, TTing with the ingame clock differs from using the 3DS clock in that you save automatically every time you TT. Because you have to use a pre-existing character to TT ingame. If you use the 3DS clock, you don't have to use a pre-existing character, so nothing saves until you log in as one. This means you can make a new character (which doesn't save until the tent/TPC business is done) to check who's moving/where someone's moving to/what flowers grew/whatever without any consequences.

TTing with the 3DS clock is like TTing with a safety net. If you don't like the results, you don't have to save them.
TTing ingame is the real deal, every time.

If you already have 4 characters, and haven't been using the "make a new character to scout before you save" technique, then basically they're the same and you've just been doing a ton of extra fiddly work for nothing. xD; TTing with the ingame clock is a lot faster and less confusing, in my opinion.

This answered my question perfectly, thanks!

I just always thought I might get confused if the system was a different time than the game...Now with TL, I have no choice. Mostly, I don't want my villagers to leave because I didn't play for a few days or something. So it should be fine. :)

tomadatchi life isnt like animal crossing. you'll get finished with tomadatchi life within a few weeks. Animal crossing is a game that you cant finnish

If you know you're going to not play for a few days, you can always use this method to ensure that no one leaves:

Play (or TT) until someone pings you and asks to leave.
Tell them no.
Stop playing that day, before it becomes 6AM.

When you come back, you can start up your town like normal and everyone will still be there.
It's the same technique people use when they want to jump forward huge amounts of time but don't want to lose anyone. This way is just the more natural way of taking advantage of that particular game mechanic.

I've done this with tt-ing big chunks too...but you're right, I could just let the time go by naturally as well. I didn't consider that.

I should probably just play TL and Disney Magical and take a little break from ACNL, instead of trying to juggle all 3 at the same time. XD

I just wish that TL didn't have a time travel penalty at all. I think that's really irritating.
