I have a second character on my island cause it’s my husbands account but that’s a good idea to start adding all my stuff into his storage. Cause I have just got bulk materials lying around my island
I have seven extra characters but its all for storage lmao. My main house I use it to store furniture, clothes, materials for stuff that I actually want to craft for my island. The second house is basically just extra stuff that is meant to be sold or not needed as frequently. I do have a whole bunch of simple panels in my second house as well though cause I hate having to order them repeatedly and they're really useful when I want to design something really quick
this is about to be a really strange comment, but hear me out. i would love to create another character for extra space, but after playing ffxiv for so long i have grown to really dislike alts, and that's what i equate another character to. it would be nice to have another character (bc i hoard clothes and materials to no end), but i dislike having another person. on MY island u know? plus id have to spend MONEY to upgrade their house and that's not what i want to do. if this other character could live under a bridge and give me extra storage, perhaps id entertain this idea more. but they do not so i cannot.
Anytime there's an item that's limited time I'll buy a bunch so my storage is filling up fast. For example the moon rug that's available right now on the nook phone. I ordered like 10 lmao. I have the second character prepared but I like his tent the way it is (meaning there's no storage yet).
I actually have 2 extra characters but I also plan on decorating their houses. The storage was kinda a bonus. One of them has gullivar hats and random furniture and the other one has NMTs and fishbait
I have two extra characters, because I love decorating my rooms, but the extra storage has been nice. I also like that I get 3 mom gifts each month, and three bug and fish models, gulliver, etc. It definitely has its benefits.
I once had an extra character in a New Leaf town. At first, It was great for storing extra flowers and such, but as time went on, I felt the need to maintain the character and her home in the game. That was fun for a little while, and it made me want to make another New Leaf town with 4 characters with small houses.
In the end, however, it was all really exhausting, and I had no time to deal with multiple characters. I went back to just a one character town, trimming down my inventory to be more reasonable, and it made playing the game much less demanding and more relaxing. No more alt baggage for me ever since. v_v
I also made a second character for storage. But I also use them for buying extra art from Redd, being able to see Pascal twice in a day, can do Gulliver/Gullivarr twice as well and make 2 models when CJ or Flick visit. You can also use them to wish on stars to exceed the 20 fragments limit and if you accidentally told a villager they can leave and changed your mind, the second character can undo what you did! So there are a lot of plus sides to a second character
Yes! I've used up all 8 character slots, not only to serve as extra storage for my hoarding needs, but also as building space, because my island is lacking more building, what with there being no Brewster Cafe, Police Station, Dream Suite, etc. My Island feels soo bare and empty without them.
I don't really buy furniture or clothing much and only gather materials when I need them for a DIY, so my storage is nowhere near full. But I have two alternate characters whose houses I'm using as a hotel and a restaurant and only play as them when I'm decorating their houses. Storing stuff in an alternate character's house feels a bit tedious since it requires exiting the game so I'd probably rather sell stuff in storage to make space since most things are orderable anyway.
