The first time I played the first game, near release, I hated it and felt like I wasted money. Eventually I gave it another shot and it's one of my favorite games ever. I liked the second one okay. Picked the 3rd one up for super cheap but after one time playing it I had zero desire to return to it. They just kept getting further away from the things I liked so much about the first game I guess

, I actually decided to replay the whole series recently and make some different choices. I enjoyed all three games but felt it could have been given a better finale, still the free extended cut and Citadel DLC helped a bit. Looking forward to 4, it will be interesting to see how they incorporate or get around everyone's choices from the first three games.

I enjoyed the second one too, but it felt more like a shooting gallery with Mass Effect characters (all those waist-high rock formations man) than a proper sequel to Mass Effect...
I did have fun playing the third one, but I was very disappointed by all the corners that were cut. Slashed voice acting budget?that's why so many secondary characters were killed off in emails, Twitter, etc, Mordin given a different voice actor, and Jessica Chobot hired to perform (horrible at acting... who's bright idea was that?). Very uneven animation quality. Tali was just a poorly photoshopped Miss England (the hand...). More effort went into sculpting Chobot's butt than painting Tali's face lol. The composition of the ending scene on the frozen planet was copied from a popular wallpaper with no consideration for perspective. Stargazing Geezer and Stargazing Kid were shoddy clones of each other. And that ending. I'm assuming that Khalisa al-Jilani will now have the urge to punch herself and everyone will rush to the Normandy to feed my fish? That, and the ending is just broken and goes against the spirit of fraternity expressed by previous games.

I loved the first two parts. Couldn`t put those games down.
The third game, after a short period of playing, I can`t seem to pick up. I don`t know why, the things that attracted me at first (the Citadel, characters, landscape) repel me now.
Thing is, I know I just got to find some willpower to play through it some more. I`m sure when I get like 10+ hours in, I`ll be addicted again.
Still though, the first part was better then the 2nd. So I don`t know if that is a warning sign of decline.
