I started thinking about this and got curious about other peoples experiences!
I’ve done this twice
I did it once to my new leaf town, about 2 months into progress and deeply regretted it at the time, however in hind sight it doesn’t bother me at all as i can’t remember any of the details from the first one! Since I’ve had the town i have now for 7 years, the one I had for two months doesn’t have that nostalgia!
the other town I deleted was my wild world town, I had recently gotton new leaf and was curious to see what other layouts and stuff I could’ve gotton on my wild world town- this was a BIG mistake! I should’ve just bought a second hand copy cheap instead. I miss everything about that town- I remember the layout pretty well considering it’s been years since I deleted it, but then I also played on that town most days for a couple of years aswell so the layout is pretty much stuck in my memory. I think the main thing I miss most about it, however, are my villagers! I had some of my favourites - puddles, Kiki, kabuki, bones, opal etc and though I’ve had some in other titles, it doesn’t feel quite the same ( I feel bad for deleting them aha! )
that’s one thing about new horizons aswell- though I LOVE the customisation options and I’m having a great time designing my island, I doubt the layout will ever stay stuck in my memory and have the same impact due to its flexibility, it feels like some of the charm has gone (though I still love the game and I’m playing it everyday)
Anyway, sorry for the long post just a thought that occurred to me!
